This is how I understood it as well. I asked Jeff how many he thought they would be getting in and whether all of the pre orders would be filled with the first shipment and he said they had put in a large order with spyderco but he still didn't know for sure how many he would get from the first production run. I guess it's just going to be a wait and see situation.

on the spyderco face page you can find pictures of my PM2 and Yojimbo with the look(has a green jacket as background), it turns it grey depending o nhow long you leave it in there. It is ferric acid so be careful

Sounds like some came in and people have them already? Is anyone getting theirs soon? I just placed a pre-order, but I'd be curious to see some new pictures / videos / reviews. That youtube video makes it look awfully smooth, I'd love to see another video or two. I hate refreshing the same video and watching it over and over..

I hope I'm wrong and that dealers are taking delivery on these but I believe the folks that have them got them directly from Spyderco at msrp from the SFO.

Dang, lucky is right...I wonder if that means CS is already through their initial stock and everyone else is going to have to wait for the next production run. Anybody else receive shipping confirmation?

The only place who sells the frag scales are a dealer in AZ. I highly doubt they will produce a scale for a knife company that they are not even a dealer for.
Ya I would like to know when as well I am just curious what my chances are of getting a first run

Called cuttleryshoppe on the phone yesterday before I placed my order and they said they got a small shipment in which they already shipped out to those who originally preordered it a few weeks ago, and they were waiting on another delivery from spyderco at this time. He said thats why its a preorder list, since the new shipment could arrive tomorrow or it could arrive in 6 weeks.

It was pretty early over this past weekend, Saturday morning (I believe). I pretty much ordered as soon as I saw it on the website.

Bummer, I was out of town over the weekend and didn't get in on the CS preorder until Sunday evening. I'm not too concerned though, we'll all get them soon enough. To those that got in on the first batch, make sure to take some pics, make a video, or just give us some first impressions to tie us over until they're more readily available.

I was at the SFO yesterday afternoon and got to play with the Southard folder. Loved it! It has great action, great balance and just feels good! The only thing I didn't love was the $300 price tag to take it out the door. It made my short list of "Knives to get in the Future", though.
