Spartan Blades fixed and folders .

POROS REVIEW

Ok, so I've been carrying this and using it in the field for a while and wanted to share honest feedback regarding this knife. For starters, it is big, scary, and murdery looking coming in at 9" long. It is very silmilar in size compared to the infamous, big, scary, and murdery looking ZT0452, only weighing a bit under an ounce more.

The detent is not as strong as the ZT, but I'm not concerned with it opening in my pocket. Deployment is a little slow (due to the weaker detent and large blade) but it has locked up every time (with no wrist flip) like a floor safe. Lock up is solid with zero blade play or wobble and the blade is centered when stowed.

Out of the box it was pretty damn sharp; it was sharper than many blades I've recieved costing more. It has cut wire insulation, packing foam, shrinkwrap, cardboard, and many other things and looked damn good while at it. While it's not the latest and greatest steel, 154 CM was considered the shit not too long ago and as far as I'm concerned, it still is. The overall profile and width is such that it disappears in the pocket and is carried comfortably. The scales have cuts that are ergonomic, intuitive, and comfortable.

It has some jimping on the top of the blade above the pivot, but it is inefective because that part of the blade sits just below scale level. I would prefer jimping above the logo forward of the scales because I tend to use that area frequently for additional leverage. Another thing is unlocking the liner lock. It can be difficult at first, but with practice, muscle memory will take over. (this could be viewed as a plus as it is highly unlikely to unlock unless comanded)

This budget friendly folder from Spartan Blades is offered in 3 scale choices and I opted for the G10/Carbon fiber composite because, why not. It is sexy, big, scary, murdery, and has become my new favorite large folder.

So far I just have a Difensa. I'm wanting either the Harsey Dagger or the George V-14. I'm hoping my local store gets the V-14 in stock so I can see which one I like better. I'm also thinking about a fighter and Clandenista... just because. Maybe a Nemec folder. I'm starting to like the slim pen style knives.

I'm curious about the Pallas with the button lock.

Anyone wanting a deep carry clip for their shf lynch clips are finally made and on the website now.

I am pretty excited! I just ordered a Spartan Pallas with Stonewashed Magnacut Blade! I got it for a smokin' deal too! This knife just clicked all the boxes for me...Harpoon style blade, Magnacut, aluminum handle, button lock and USA made! I had to have it! Be prepared for some gratuitous photos when it arrives in a few days! 😁

The Pallas is an awesome knife, I have the S45VN version and it's super smooth. Curious to hear your thoughts once you get it in hand!

I'm not sure why this knife doesn't get more coverage on the forums! It is amazing! If you like knives that are tanks, this blade has you covered...it is smooth, locks up like a bank vault and feels so good in the hand! If you can't afford or refuse to pay for a Spartan-Hersey, seriously check the Pallas out! It's keeper for me for sure!

I would go so far as to say it is as good as the LG buttonlock, especially if you prefer flipper options! Please forgive me mitchnola mitchnola 😁

I have one in s45vn. on paper it was everything I could ever want and it's decent. things I don't like about it though are the super tight and kinda thinnish pocket clip. it's not a great flipper. it does flip open, but not great. reminds me of a Buck vantage feel wise on flipping. mine came super dull and I haven't put in the effort to reprofile it and get it sharp. lock has tiny bit of play in it. not a big deal though.

i wasn't over impressed like i was with the shf. could be I just didn't get a good one.

So I got home from a weekend at the lake, and this babe was waiting for me on the doorstep. Needless to say, my wife was none too thrilled. It was a little tough going at first, but after I stripped her down and gave her a good bath, followed by a nice lube, she is giving up that razor edge goodness with ease. Wife is still pissed 😂
