Spartan Blades fixed and folders .

A rare bird arrived today. A pristine example of Spartan's first folder. Even came with box and original warranty card. I present the Akribis, a liner/framelock hybrid. Flicks out like a demon and locks up like a vault!

No pics unfortunately. I have two Difensas. One in S45VN, the second in Magnacut with what they call OD scales (maybe it's my eyes but it looks kinda like a greenish brown to me).

I want a Harsey Dagger and probably a Pallas whenever my local shop ever gets them in. I'm also thinking of the Torri with red scales. The Area appeals to me because I just like forward swept blades.

I think I now have each variant! Love this Spartan classic! They feel great in the hand and the washer action is very smooth.View attachment 2796851View attachment 2796852

These look awesome. Wish he still offered the design - I think I would prefer this over the current SHF (no aggressive jimping, and ergos looks great). How is the blade thickness / geometry compared to the new ones?

Blade is thinner stock and a higher flat grind than the SHF. These are not a Harsey design, they a were an in house design with supposedly some input from Chris Reeves. Ergos are great (who doesn't like a big butt?) 😜🤣

Does anyone have a Spartan Moros or Horkos fixed blade? I have one plain Harsey Folder, and am trying to decide on a companion fixed blade. They both look awesome, I am wondering how they handle though.

I have a horkos from some years back. It’s very well built. I don’t love the nylon sheath but that’s more a personal preference thing. It did chip on me in one spot but that’s was mostly my fault. I tried to cut a zip tie with it. Ergonomics are good, takes a great edge. I’d recommend.

Hmmm I think a knife ought to be able to cut a zip tie without chipping. Not your fault and sounds like a questionable heat treatment on that one.

What are those zip ties made of? I've never ever had a knife chip on me while cutting a zip tie, even when torquing them open

I see a few people who have the Pallas. How is the lock? Like how tight does it lock up and how durable or strong is it? I've been wanting to get my hands on one to see if I like it for a while but my local shop hasn't had any in a little while. I learned the expensive way I have to handle a knife a few times before I decide to buy it.

If I recall correctly it was one of those small zip ties, I forget what it was on. Took a little chip out of the edge. Nothing too crazy but it was noticeable
