Another Spanish Machete. This one is with tapitas. The better knives are made a bit different - the stag extends all the way under the caps, which are made from nickel silver sheet that is formed and then fitted over the ends. The flat end caps are soldered on and pinned through the stag and liners This one also features decorative up turned liners.

Fancy, but very functional. This one is medium sized with about a 3.25" blade.

jmh33 jmh33 You got the rarer version John :) 50 serialized, 24 not. Maybe I'd better get rubbing that bolster to increase the rarity......🤣 09 pretty feint anyway ;) Mine's just wore out rubbish anyway.....not!

Thanks, Will

H Honest_Thomas Certainly @Travman knows more about the 16 pattern than I do as he owns some. But thought you may find this useful.

Beware, it's a rare pattern only released once I believe and back in those naive untroubled days... o_O it was none too popular and remained untouched on dealer shelves for months....

Think the essential difference is the Northfields is longpull, Tidioute -nick

That was the very first gec I went looking for seeing as I have bunch of "indians/cree first nation "in the house,I had already bought the boys the case canoes and one for myself and thought I would get a 16 lic 4+ years ago,so I asked around, and everyone just laughed and said good luck.i realized then how scarce they were and that they were only made once and Seen only a few here on bladeforums and one on aapk.

Oldy Oldy Yes it's a rare bird, or boat Robert. I think it's not impossible that GEC might resurect it as so much interest revolves around their knives for now that I think they could release a bladeless patern and it would sell out 🤣

IF there were a bit more flexibility (competence....) in negotiating things  I would have thought that the 16 revival could be SPEARheaded by having it as a Forum Knife, only this time I don't think it would be a difficult sell provided there was an attractive scale option, was priced intelligently and overseas orders were not dismissed out of hand as too much hassle :(

Wow that would be a great idea for a bladeforums knife and your right about a bladeless knife selling out,but then again where else could you find a bladeless knife,as for international orders it would need say an intermediary to take the stress off spark, but I'm thinking the bladeforums knife has gone the way of the Tasmanian 🐯
