Special project Magnacut ???

The water out here is used for frac jobs to fracture the shale deposits so the wells can produce. The rock formation isn't very porous so they used high pressure (I've seen pressures as high as 12.1k psi) and sand to fracture the formations. Then, when they bring the wells online, they get a lot of water back. The water they get back gets treated with an insane amount of chemicals and reuses to frac the next well. So, if you think salt water is corrosive think again! This stuff is so nasty you can smell the salt and metal in it. It's also full of bleach, acid, and other corrosive chemicals. And my magnacut blade literally looks brand new! As a comparison, I carried a spyderco drunken out here for 1 12 hiur shift. S90v blade showed an insane amount of rust spots in only 8 hours.
thanks. good info. ya satisfied my curiosity. appreciated.

I can attest to the 100% corrosion proof! I work in the oilfield and the water out here is absolutely nasty. Like... smells like metal and salt. Rusts stainless steel in under an hour. Disgusting stuff. Been using a protech malibu in magnacut for over a month now and not a single spot on it!

Here's a couple good videos showing Magnacut's corrosion resistance:

I was at the BCCI event when these were rolled out. Buck did not tell us about those going up on the web. I was busy at the event and not checking the messages on my phone. So I missed out on the web knives. Only knew about the club 501.
I am sorry you missed out on those. We did have them on the tables in the store but I think they were mostly looked past since they didn't appear to be different than other 119's. We sold the last of them on Friday to a studious member who flipped the knife over to reveal the steel.

Thank you for your comments. I would have picked one of the 110s. I have been EDCing a 110 sport ever since they came out. I would love to compare the Magnacut steel to the S30V.

If Buck would only offer loose blades for the various Take-Aparts it would be no big deal to drop one in. But I would pay BIG money for a 112 'Selector' just to be able to do it easily. If I had the choice of a drop point Magnacut, S30V, S35VN, S45VN or heck even mirror polished 420 blade with a quality handle like Buffalo horn or Elk I think $850.00 or more for the knife and 7 to 8 premium/super steel blades would be absolutely cheep! It would make a killer display at Atlanta along with having and using basically what I would consider Bucks ultimate user. It's about time Buck really considers a REAL Custom shop choice with Magnacut. CJ we WILL pay well if you give us the opportunity.

Would someone please explain to me...WHY is it that when I have plenty of $$ to spend that I can never find stuff like this , but when Momma said be easy on the spending this week , there are sales like this everywhere 😔
