that is quite sweet. out of curiosity id like to know how deep you drilled the holes. ive undertaken a similar project using a piece of musclewood that i cut myself. the spikes will be similar but 1/2 " in diameter. did you tap the holes? any adhesive used? worried drilling too deep might compromise the structural integrity of the wood.
