The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
But that would require you to turn the blade around in your hand as you were sliding out of control. Oh, did I mention there's a leopard seal waiting to eat you at the bottom and you only have seconds. It's kind of important.
I am down anytime.
Suggested itinerary as follows:
1) Air rifles (Red Ryders, followed by Springers, followed by PCP's - Precharged Pneumatics).
2) 8-ball ('cause I believe the game a bit more difficult & entertaining), followed by 9-ball (fast & loose).
3) Tomahawks & throwing knives.
4) Some nice woodcrafting (knives, hawks, axes, froes, unlimited).

While my technique would be different, I could accomplish the same with my Case Trapper. I have lockbacks, and I respect what can be done with lockbacks. Yet I know that whatever can be done with a lockback can be done with a slipjoint. You don't have to rely on a lock, in fact, even if you have a lock you should not rely on it. If you use a knife in a situation where you have to rely on or concerned about the lock, then get a fixed blade.
That's what the bottle of Canadian Club is for.![]()

I agree in theory . Except that the very nature of an emergency is that it comes unexpectedly . And by the will of Murphy , at the worst possible time .
Inarguably , a fixed blade is always superior in use . But a folder is just so much more convenient and comfortable . Unfortunately , if you give in to the temptation of folder EDC (like me) - then that is what you'll have when trouble finds you .

Useless crap. Go ahead and cut your fingers off.
Yup, I concur.. A bunch of moronic dumb fucks slamming knives down as not intended.
Hope you don't have obama care![]()
Why should you not rely on a lock?
