SPOILER ALERT!! Official 'The Walking Dead' TWD Season 7 Discussion Thread

There is a lot less action and a lot more story right now. Character transitions are slow. It is a severe lull in the entertainment dept.

Too bad they don't spin off the comic series and take it a new direction. Something fresh, interesting and bloody.

I don't think Daryl is broken. If he was, I think he wouldn't be wearing the slave shirt. He'd have said, "I am Negan," and away we go.

I agree, ExtraBaconPlease. One pistol ain't gonna cut it.

This show has gone in the crapper. They still have a sh**-ton/a&&-load of guns (at the beginning), but no one is packing except those leaving the compound. Big mistake. Also, they're keeping inventory of the guns? Another big mistake, IMO. Don't take inventory. You know when you have guns, and you know when you don't have any left in the armory. That is all you need to know. Where did Rick learn to govern? The demo... nevermind... started to go political there. Sorry.

They APPARENTLY didn't even have sentries posted. Anywhere. Because it apparently was a complete surprise when Negan showed up. They SHOULD have at least had sentries up on the walls. If they're smart, they would have had advance sentries out on approaches. Although unless they had some dang fast runners, or radios (encrypted), I don't know how much use advance sentries would be, unless they're sniping at the approach corridors. Which, at this point, I'd be doing.

Negan didn't APPEAR to arrive with an overwhelming force. Just a bunch of thugs (seemed no MORE than the population of Alexandria). Start putting down lead in their direction, starting with everyone targeting Negan. In the head. One of the 50 or so rounds coming at his head would have to strike home. The dude ain't bulletproof. Just an a&&. Take out the leader, another one steps up. But yeah, now they have had a demonstration that being the leader just makes you the one with the target most prominently on his head.

Not sure why Carl didn't pop him. Unless maybe he was in too close and had the drop on him while he had the drop on Negan's flunkies. Yeah, Carl is lucky he didn't get the bat...

But anyway, if the town opened up on Negan, maybe they go down. But they go down fighting. I'm not sure which would be worse. Being dead, or even a zombie, or putting up with Negan's crap. The only thing I can figure is they're all so fascinated by his inane one-liners that they can't bear to put him down.

I think they could of killed Negan and his little group of friends too but they would of killed Daryl. That's the only issue with that approach. Personally, I would of stashed a F load of guns and supplies outside Alexandria the second the group got back from Lucille's little gathering. When Negan arrives, give him everything and that's left and hit the road. Or just hit the road the second they got back with all the supplies, whichever. Get really far away, start over again. Build everything back up from scratch and when you are strong enough, return, get revenge and maybe save Daryl if he is still alive.

There isn't really a good option. Working with Negan honestly doesn't seem that bad. Only thing is he killed Glenn and Abraham.

No, it IS that bad. Remember the last scene? They took every mattress/bed out of Alexandria, and then burned them in the road on the way back to their station. No use for them, don't even want them. They just want to be cruel to the Alexandrians. No, it's bad, and every stinkin' one of them needs to be put down. At least that's my take on it.

Hope I never wind up on either side of that situation, in my spoiled modern home with all the modern 21st century conveniences...

Stopped watching. Just too unrealistic once Negan showed up. Think another said it earlier... A guy like that wouldn't survive, one of his own men would take him out.

The cliche evil leader who happily kills anybody for breathing the wrong way, including his own guys, just doesn't exist in the real world. Even Kim Jong Un has a close inner circle of people he's known since childhood, all of whom rely on his continued existence for their own wealth, position, etc. Nobody in Negan's commune has anything to lose by his dying, and everything to gain by killing him. Unless they enjoy giving him their wives or girlfriends, and living with the constant threat of being beaten to death for sneezing in his presence or something. So in the real world, he'd get done, immediately.

What made the Walking Dead so good, in my opinion, was that they nailed the psychological aspect. It wasn't just a show about gore and zombies and the trials of physical survival in that world, it was a show about how people coped with these things emotionally, and the actions, good or bad, that resulted from that. Now with Negan, it's just a hyper-violent cartoon. They've upped the gore because the psychological terror is gone.

Remember when Rick killed Shane? His best friend, who struggled with the guilt of leaving him when he thought he was dead, and the fact that he was still in love with his wife... His psyche had crumbled, he was acting like a mad dog, and a danger to the group. But still deep-down, probably a good guy, and up until the last moment, maybe even redeemable... I thought that was what was happening, actually, until Rick made the choice to put him down. The agony of that decision popped right off the screen.

Compare that to the bat scene, which was basically just some maniac killing a couple of beloved characters, even if it would never realistically happen, since said maniac would have been taken out long ago by his own people. The scene had zero emotional impact beyond the fact that the people being slaughtered had been with the show for a long time. Like somebody else said, the show has been reduced to senseless torture-porn. Which is boring. My opinion, anyway.

Yea i agree they are some big a holes....but then again...Rick and his group killed like 30 of their people. So I can definitely see both sides of it.

I also agree with you that I wouldn't want to be on either side of that situation

lol whoopdie doo they burned some beds I actually laughed out loud when I saw how worked up Michonne was about that. Seriously why would it be that bad to work with Negan? He hooks you up with an army of people for security, food, whatever you need, just provide half of the stuff you find to him. It's the zombie apocolypse. Join a group, the strongest group, live and prosper, while you can.

If it were me, I would start by thining out the crowd with poison. As in lace the next harvest delivery with some strong and quick acting sheet. Then set up and wait for the final battle to arrive. Dictate the play and never let up. Also I'd be fast tracking the Banding together with other groups.

Imagine when Negan was at the door saying "little pig let me in" that Rosita just unloaded her AK at him hahahahahaha

I'm surprised she didn't. There should have been standing orders to not waste any opportunity. Bam! Done. Rest of the season could have been building up to the cliffhanger of the mass of the Saviors advancing on Alexandria for the final showdown. Then open next season with the tiger man coming to the rescue.

I agree 100%. When i was thinking about that situation, that was basically my exact plan too ;)

I gotta disagree with you though Luke bro haha i'd rather go up against Negan with the risk of dying than serving for and under an evil dude like him..especially if i'd just seen my friends die to Lucile.

So much I could say but I've never been the biggest fan of this show and have never read the comic/graphic novel, etc. one thing though...I hope they kept a deceptive firearms inventory. Negan's crew never knew of the true inventory and since they relied on the written record so much could have been buried in that false grave. Plus, it's nice to see an actual example of the poor marksmanship when Michone (spelling?) went self-sniper training. It has always been interesting how accurate these folks shoot with more luck than skill.

Anyone else think that maybe there are a bunch of guns buried in the grave they showed in the beginning of the episode? I wouldn't put it passed that shady priest!

I was thinking that Negan would order them to dig up supposed body of the x-pregnant chick just to verify their story.... That would have been a low act.... but made for interesting watching.

SERIOUSLY THOUGH- Negan should have been dead 15 times already.... So many 'tide turning' wasted opportunities. I am very quickly loosing respect for Rick.... I think Michone is also. Time to grow a pair and go out in a blaze of glory... Oh I forgot... You have one pistol and no bullets.... Oh well back to being a rentboy.

My ego agrees wth you but my brain doesn't. I'd rather get to a position like Dwight then kill Negan and blame the death on someone or something else, take all Negan's stuff and no more of my friends die in the process. Revenge isn't going anywhere.

I wish. There would be a lot of thinking ahead by many members of the town, including perhaps Olivia, for that to work. The scene where the Priest walks up on Negan w/out him realizing it, and Negan's reaction, was priceless.

I can guarantee you I'd have been one of the easiest to break, ever. Just because the sweetest revenge would be to be in his inner circle, one of his most trusted, just to slit his throat to the spine when he turned his back in trust.

I'd wait till he handed me Lucille like he did Rick the smack him right in the balls with it. Then let a zombie or two have their way with him lol
