SPOILER ALERT!! Official 'The Walking Dead' TWD Season 7 Discussion Thread

The character storyline is great and all but I really miss the zombie threat. Now they are just things to be avoided but nothing to get too worried about. Not digging that aspect of the shows progression.

Daryl's going to be feeling damned guilty for causing Negan to bash in Glenn's head and shouldn't Maggie be a little bit pissed off at Daryl for ultimately causing Glenn's death?

In the comics, Abraham was taken out with an arrow through the eye, the way Denise was in the show, so he had to go, and of course, Glenn was Lucille's victim in the comic.

As a reader of the comics for several years, one of the funniest things I ever saw in it was in The Walking Dead Comic Book issue 102's "Letters to the Editors".

Glenn had just gotten his head bashed in in issue 100 and in a letter to creator Robert Kirkman a fan complains about Glenn's death. It's hilarious.

'........I can't believe you killed Glenn off in the 100th issue. What were you thinking?

"Hi, I'm Robert Kirkman. I created a really good comic character who basically carried my book for over eight years and then decided to kil him in the 100th issue. I like vienna sausages and Diet Rite. .....You know what I could really go for right now? A bag of dicks. I'd love to have me a big bag of dicks. Yeah. I could really go for a large duffle filled with dicks right about now."

...Foolish move, Kirkman. You better watch your back from now on, because I am gonna get you. Don't even THINK about leaving your house! I bought three things yesterday to destroy you:
1) a walkie talkie
2) a sniper rifle
3) the other walkie talkie
I'm coming for you. I'm coming for you fast and hard, Kirkman.

Sincerely,
Steven Yeun

of course, Steven Yeun plays Glenn on The Walking Dead....

Sorry I was so long winded. You can read the comics online and the whole letter is in there too. It really was pretty funny. Kirkman's response was, too.

And as for the rest of this season...I don't know. I am so damned sick of Super Carol that I could puke. I thought when she was getting shot full of holes last season we'd seen the end of her but noooooooo! Gah. I'm rambling again. I need a drink.

I need a drink.

Thats what i was thinking at first, but really Darly would have been thinking he would cop it as a repercussion for having a dig at Negan. I think anyone else who would have tried to attack Negan would be killed directly, but Negan likes the "potential" in Darly. So it is Darly's fault but indirectly...

Needed a drink after watching it too. It was very heavy to watch..

Anyone know what Glenn was trying to say?
"Maggie...i will find you?" ..i think?
Edit: and if so..what did he mean? He will find her... In the next life?

A little bit of trivia for everyone-
The title of this episode was "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be"

I keep seeing that a lot of people think it means that Abe/Glenn "Won't be", nope---
It's referencing the dialogue between Rick and Edwin Jenner (the scientist) in the first season finale when Jenner shuts the doors and is going to kill everyone 'mercifully', and Rick talks Jenner into opening the doors to let them out-

Jenner: "There's your chance. Take it"
Rick: "I'm grateful"
Jenner: "The day will come when you won't be"

Or.....maybe he is a sort of "guardian angel" figure for the group and that is how they keep him in the storyline even though he wasn't in the comics.
I wouldn't exactly call him a guardian angel. In fact, I think Daryl has lost a lot of his savviness in the last few years and has made some very costly mistakes. Remember Maggie's sister and that wannabe doctor girl? Both died under his watch. And, you could argue that Glen's death was also caused by him. Don't get me wrong I like Daryl and would have him on my team any day but he's still prone to making some pretty bad decisions.

Could argue? It WAS caused by him. Daryl effectively killed Glenn himself.

Daryl's impulsiveness got Glenn killed, period. Maybe the writers are trying to make Daryl less of a fan-favorite so they can kill him off later.

The only problem with Daryl is he's gone soft and civilized. He's been running with the wrong people too long.

Haha what's wrong with that?? I like the good civilized characters like him and Morgan. The world is nothing but an evil one without characters like that

I think he was either trying to say I love you, or it is showing the brain trauma he suffered and he's saying I'll find you in reference to how he was trying to find maggie multiple times in the last seasons after they were separated

Yeah he was saying, "I'll find you..." That's a thing between Maggie and him. They would always say that to each other

Did not catch that but i remember that line! Very cool. Thanks for sharing. And boy was he right!

I agree completely, I don't think Daryl will make it through season 7 and as a bitchy aside, I think Daryl cries waaaay too much for someone who is supposed to be such a badass. :D

if everyone thinks they are correcting the show to be like the comics how safe is Judith and how do u think she might go? the comic was crazy getting shot through her mom.

I Blame Jesus for all of this everyone was fineish alone in the world at Alexandria.
Speaking of Jesus, what ever happened to him? I can't seem to remember at the moment. I liked him...smart, crafty, and a hell of a fighter (he gave even Daryl all he could handle). Seems like they could use him right about now.
