Spring 2015 Becker (East) Gathering - May 1-3 - Now With Pictures!

Made it back safe and have a lot of pics to upload. Maybe sometime tonight or tomorrow morning. Half way home I realized I never washed that vegetable pan that finished cooking at like 1:30 AM so my apologies to whoever cleaned that. Can't remember who I got it from (might have been you iirc Rolled) but I'll be your official dish washer at the next one.

Made it home safe and sound, but exhausted. This Gathering was even more fun than the last, a huge thank you to Ethan, Ka-Bar and all the Beckherheads old and new :)

Oh yeah.... RAWR!! :D

Sorry I couldn't hang around more, but overbooked obligations abound.

See some of you at Blade (Knife Rights booth) and around the local gun shows.

To the rest, Well Met and safe travels!

MOAR PIX!

There was at least one Daizee, too - Derek's necker. That's a sweet little knife, dude

I'm afraid I didn't take a single pic... too busy having fun. :o

Well, 1066Vik went to the hospital for stitches.....

And then there's this......

Yuuuup......

Moose

He pimped that hat and shirt like a boss. I still feel bad that Vik got himself all cut up by my knife. There was blood... a lot of it. Other than that it was a total blast. So glad I made it, and got to meet all of the world class people there. Drank good brews, and had some of the best pork loin ever cooked.

Great event, nice people, nice setting, good opportunity to learn and share and also, food that can't be beat.

Thanks Ethan for the hospitality.

Radiator blew up outside of Knoxville. Thankfully at a truck stop in the parking lot. Mechanics have it torn down now, just waiting for the replacement now. Will post when home.

Made it to the house. Wayyy too many thanks and such to handle tonight. Will post more tomorrow, I'm whooped! Thanks Ethan and Beckerheads for taking us in and showing us a wonderful time. Sorry to hear about ur ride Derek, hope they get ya squared away.

It was a big crowd this time!

Some sought refuge in the trees.

Some sought solace in a giant skillet of meat.

Others were trampled in the melee.

Others got the hell out of Dodge any way they could, kitchen sink and all!

marinated venison, hammered flat and rolled around a jalapeno slice & a mushroom slice - then wrap all of that in a slice of bacon and grill.....
mmmmmmmmmmm..........

and fried pies!

oh, yeah - it was only a flesh wound - they didn't have to amputate after all.

Damn Derek that sucks. But why am I not surprised your stopping at truck stops on the way home. :D

Myself, my son and Murph got home just after 7 this evening. As they always are, the gathering was a blast, many laughs, good friends old and new, great food food, great brews woods time, shop time all with the best host on the planet.

Ethan, thanks again for opening your home to us. Like I've said before, you are a inspiration and a perfect example of how people/professionals should be. Id say you have no idea how many peoples lives are better for you being in it. Myself included.

Erik, sorry about your maimed extremity. 6 stitches sucks. But I realize there probably not to many people in the world that can put there name on a scar on a mountain of a man like you. So, if its gotta happen, glad my knife can claim the scar! :D

This time was extra special for me because I got to take my best buddy with me. My son Jared made the trip and he had a blast. Thank you to everyone that went out of there way to teach/talk/play or keep a watchful eye out for him and for all the things he was given............ he didnt take the knife Ethan gave him off of his belt until he got all the way back to indiana so he could show his Momma. :)

Some pics:

My son Jared and I working on a tomahawk head.

His favorite thing he said was putting lead downrange. He got to fire some heavy hitters as well. Dont know many ten year olds that get to shoot suppressed weaponry. AWESOME!!!!!

Jerry D's wife squeezed some rounds off. Dont piss this one off Bud! :D

Evidently I missed out on the lizard catching class.

Thanks again Ethan!

Right on, Vik. On both accounts.
