Spring 2015 Becker (East) Gathering - May 1-3 - Now With Pictures!

Vacation time put in for if denied all ready planning for the 5 day spring bout with the ebolia cant wait to see everyone

So this may be a long shot but I would love a local foraging class. I recently cooked a mushroom I found in the backyard ( after 95% identifying it) and it was awesome. It would be cool to see some of the local edibles on the hill.

Will do my best to make the long treacherous Journey! (trying to get the wife to go too)

Gonna bring some tasty eats as well.

Any requests?

Probably tired of snails right? Let me see if I can something else we can eat.

gator tail or gator sausage? ;)

tentative, most probably a yes and that would be me by myself in a hammock unless a female friend wants to join in the adventure. Possibly beer? aged rum? edibles? dunno yet, still have time to figure it out. Ooooh and I have some knives that came back from Peter's that I'm in the process of finishing, should be able to bring a couple of them.

I'm looking to make it down for this one. Oz will be my co-pilot as Triggs can't take time off this summer because of the Pan Am games. She gets to stay at home with Zack. I think I'm getting the better part of the deal.

Things may change depending on how the house hunt goes...

My son and I are coming. He will be in a tent and I would like to sleep in the bed of my pick-up (truck has a cap) if there is an acceptable place to park it.

Not sure of what sides, provisions and beverages I'll be bringing yet - but will provide.

BTW: This is our first gathering and I wish to thank Ethan in advance for his hospitality and all here for the anticipated camaraderie.

We are truly looking forward to it with great anticipation.

There isn't a readily accessible place to park a truck as parking at the top of the mountain is very limited, and while there is parking at the bottom, it would be more prudent to stay at the top in a tent or hammock.

My son is 16.

cool - he should have fun, then.
If you need to borrow a hammock, let me know and I can bring a spare. (you'll want a sleeping bag to go in it and a tarp -- 9x12 is plenty, even an 8x8 will work if it's not raining sideways.

If you could be kind enough to bring an extra, that would be great - I'll try it.

I have a tarp and tent(s) - and a back that oftentimes needs an air mattress, hence the truck idea. If the truck idea doesn't work at all, I may have to use the tent and/or your hammock offer and just compensate with ibuprofen and libations. ;):D

Boudan and I would really like to see you set your face on fire again. My kids will probably be there and they ain't never seen nothing like that.

no worries.
neither of those is uncommon at a gathering.

I'll also bring an extra one-person tent in case anyone needs it. You may laugh, but one time someone who shall remain nameless just plain forgot to bring any kind of shelter at all :D

Hiking up the hill is doable but a challenge. Going down - not so bad. :)
