Hey everyone, just checking in again. It is LATE Monday. You realize that this is happening later in the week right? I'm totally excited. I talked about this ALL DAY LONG in the OR. Needless to say I am pumped. I talked to the boss last weekend, and some really exciting stuff is about to happen. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us. I'm bringing a tipi, which I hope to be sleeping under. Unfortunately a large amount of rain will cramp my style in that sort of dwelling. If all else fails I have a hammock and associated gear. Can I recommend some sort of underquilt for our hammock sleepers? If not, cool. If you get cold, hit me up at the gathering and we'll make a big go-to-ground shelter for everyone. At the last gathering I attended I had to go to ground with some rigged up nonsense from Sloan's. The problem is the air blowing underneath you. Again super excited to re-unite with friends and to meet all the newcomers. These next few workdays should be easy! You will have a great time this weekend!

I hate to return to the animal follies but, be sure to ask me about the goat that almost made it to PWYP a couple of years ago...HE HE HE........ E

Speaking of PWYP...
Ethan, I'm supposed to pass along a message from a fella who made your acquaintance at PWYP in NC last March. His wife won a BK9 and asked you to sign it.

"Tell Uncle Ethan the cool kids from North Carolina he hung out with at PWYP say hello!"

Not sure if you'll remember but I'm sure the ol' steel trap don't miss much!

We'll be meeting up the last weekend this month for my first gathering with the Carolina Bushcraft Facebook folks in Uwharrie National Park. Seems like a nice bunch of folks, looks like I'll have at least one friend in Beckerdom.

truck is 3/4 packed -- heading out in the AM.
included is a box full of a fresh batch of SWMBO's bug-off soap, lotion sticks, and whipped body butter for sale, plus some beard oil for folks who do that kind of thing to try out.

Can someone please PM me the coordinates? I can get to Sloan's but I will inevitability get lost from there...

Iirc you take a right at sloans (coming from south) and follow that road until you hit a bridge on the left with the "B" sign. Turn and follow to the house with another "B" sign. I'll pm you the address when I get back to the house.

Oh yeah..I come from North though. My GPS took me on a cool curvy back road and I think I came out just before the bridge. That's why I say I inevitability get lost...even with a GPS!
Thanks TW!

The first few times I used gps it took me on an extra 2.5-ish mile loop back to the same road. Without that extra gps nonsense, it's literally one left turn on to his road. Fun fact: I once had mapquest have me take four left turns. I took every one of them. Not my brightest moment.

Do you want coordinates or address? 35.541780, -84.060030 <-- The coordinates.

That'll work! I just picked up a practically new Magellan Explorist 310 for $50! At a pawn shop of all places thanks to this board! It's only fitting that this be THE first coordinates to use!

Yeah TW...that's prob the exact route I took last time. A loop on the other side of the river/lake thingy.

Thanks guys!
