We didn't get any objections from the several prior participants we surveyed, so it looks like next year we'll go with essentially the same weekend as this year's Spring Bush Bash I: April 30 to May 2, 2010. I'll probably arrive Thursday afternoon (April 29).

Directions to the great camp suggested by lambertiana are in the Calendar sticky under BBI.

We'll be doing all the usual stuff: Archery, hand drill, bow drill, charcloth making, knife/hawk throwing, target shooting, slingshots/slings, hiking, mountain biking, fatwood collecting, showing off knives/axes/hawks, big campfires, wild boar sausage, scones, etc. Or you can just kick back and enjoy the nice forest setting.

To keep a positive buzz for the event, we'd be grateful if folks who can't make it don't post that fact. There will undoubtedly be a lot of people who have conflicts, can't get the time off or are too far away.

Those of us who attended the last couple gatherings had a very good time so we hope you can join us this Spring!:D

Sending this back up from page 3. In a couple hours I'm heading out for a week of spearfishing and hope a few more folks see the Spring dates while I'm gone.

Coming back up from page 8 so a few more folks can see the dates.

Hope to see you there!

Returning from the hinterlands.

Now that bearthedog is back, perhaps he'll try to make it?

The local market stopped carrying Yukon Jack. Of course, they still have 100 proof Southern Comfort for those who like the sweet sippers!

You would like Camp Lambertiana---it's a pretty location. You'd just have to give Chris a little grief about pillaging all the fatwood!:D

The gathering is a "go" and we expect a good turnout since there's been a lot of advance notice and some great photos of the first couple events.

I'm back in town so I thought I'd kick this to the top again so a few more folks will hopefully see it.

Thanks for considering attending!

Page 13 seemed a bit unlucky so I thought I'd kick this back to the top for further exposure.

Is the shooting portion supervised or unsupervised i.e. organized or un organized shooting?

This sounds like a good time!

Are we camping or bushwhacking it, dogs allowed and Is there potable water on site?

I think thats it for me, I have to find out about time off, it'd be fun to meet you guys.

sircantaloupe: Glad your schedule is open. It's a nice place and good group!

Quirt: The shooting was supervised the first time by lambertiana, who gave a safety lecture and demo before organizing the shooting group. The second time, we had a competitive match shooter and myself (NRA certified as firearms safety and handgun instructor) with one other shooter. If a large group of shooters shows up, we'll want to have a couple folks oversee that aspect of the weekend.

The Chef: This area is a no-fee car camping meadow that most 2WD vehicles can access. It is only a few hundred yards off the paved road. So no bushwhacking unless someone decides to take off and do it.

Dogs are OK as long as folks keep them under control and suppress night time barking.

There's no water at this location. There is a stream a few miles back, as you pass through the Hartland Christian Camp but I don't know where you can legally access that water. I just brought a couple 5 gal. jugs.

Hope to see you all there!

We are also doing a desert outing over Martin Luther King weekend in January. I'll bring that post up so you can see it as well.

Happy New Year bump from Page 8. Maybe some non-football fans will see this and decide to join us?

Sunk back down to p. 12 so I think it's time for a little resuscitation in case we have any new viewers.

Chris,

We'll be delighted to see you up there!

Please bring that Norlund Nessmuk. The other day I almost bid on one that still had original paint on the blade. Apparently not used. Some lucky guy got it for $125. I'm waiting on my curly maple Lee Reeves (by March, maybe) so I didn't feel like bidding on the Norlund.

Take it easy,

Hello all!

We are currently putting a Spring Primitive Skills Gathering for the first week of May. It will be a campout with meals, skills workshops, trading, etc. Will be held on Native Northern Californian preserved land. Area has Russian River access and many native species for harvesting...We have a solid list of top West Coast teachers lining up.

Will be finished with the website in the next couple of weeks. Will post when ready!
