Spring into Spring with a "Barlow a Day for Thirty Days"

Day 7

Case single-blade Barlow in Smooth Antique Bone. Thunderstorms this afternoon, so no walk other than a quick jaunt to the mailbox. Might have a plastic mail pouch to open today, standard fare for my knives these days.

Can barely see the faded "Days Work" etch ............... takes me back about ten years. 🤔
Nice contrasting pair of knives !😍

day whatever (9 or 10) a few hours early.
Returning to the SARGE official BSA. I think Isle carry it until day 15 ore another five more.

Barlow alone. Maple Burl covers are unoccupied. ☹️🥺 I pre-zoom so the scouts don't get nightmares when afield over night.🙄

Day 9 - With an assist from Sir Mix-A-Lot (I don't think he was really ever knighted though...)

I like big knives and I cannot lie,
you other brothers can't deny,
when a barlow pops open,
with an action that's "ace,"
and that long bolster in your face, you get sprung!
Sprung like a spring,
In the back of a jack - that's a slipjoint thing!
Those big bone covers she's wearing,
you know they got me staring,
hey, Barlow, I wanna oil your joints,
and sharpen the tip of your point...

I could go on... ok, yeah, agreed. that's probably enough.

The knives have felt too small the past couple days, and I felt the need to get back to my roots - big, brown, brawlers! EO Beerlows, Case 62009½s, that crazy TEW Barlow - they're nice and all, but just a bit... diminutive. Today, I felt like using knives that fill my hand and yank on my britches!

For your consideration, fellow barlow-philes, my treasured GEC-made Remington 2022 Silver Bullet Granddaddy Barlow, my also treasured GEC #21 Bull Buster in Natural Linen Micarta, and last (but certainly not least) a treasured and recently arrived Camillus-made Remington R4243 Bullet Camp Knife, of 1994 vintage, wearing Jigged Delrin covers.
