Spring into Spring with a "Barlow a Day for Thirty Days"

I’m on a business trip so I packed fairly light. I only brought a large handful of knives with me, but I had these 2 in my pocket all day!



I haven’t spent much time with the little 25 yet, but it sure disappears in the pocket!
The BF21 seems to just jump into my pocket every day!

Day 8 here. Missed posting a pic yesterday, Got a quick snapshot off this morning, albeit poor lighting in the stairway landing window but it does evoke a old time feel not unlike the feeling you get tot'n a Barlow.

Day 9 and the 14 continues to ride along happily in my pocket. I normally carry a midsize to large traditional so it’s been quite the change going to a 14 for most of my pocket knife usage. It’s handling most jobs well enough though.

Missed a couple of days of checking in!! Boiley has been with me consistently throughout, and today I am adding my Bearcat #25 for a two-Barlow day!! Maybe I will pop a top today!!View attachment 2513750View attachment 2513751

Thanks, Will. I was going for an old timey looking photo for an old timey knife pattern. Not sure if that makes sense but it's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've failed the 30 days, so just random Barlow shots now. Still haven't located the Boker, it's been a few days. Luckily the mail brought some fun today!

I've never picked up a Utica and disliked it. Some of my favorite work knives are Utica/Klein and I've recovered a bunch of them.

this thread had me curiously poking around eBay and looking at Barlows. It's not really a pattern normally on the radar so it was fun to see what is out there.

This Utica popped up and I thought it might be a good project. The price was right and it's in pretty good shape. It's well put together. Decent action and the blades are centered enough.

I have two pieces of red bone that are just a bit too short for everything, but they will fit this Barlow. I'm thinking smooth redbone? Maybe scribed? Hmm....




This is getting a new edge and will be with me tomorrow.
