Spring into Spring with a "Barlow a Day for Thirty Days"

I was mistooked.
The Imperial (Ireland) Jackmaster Barlow only made it to day 25.99.

Day 26 to 30 will be the Imperial (Prov. R.I.) Jackmaster Barlow.
(not the top one in the picture.)
The "Browning" Moditional Daddy Barlow is still in a different pocket.
Ide be surprised if it don't make it to day 60....

I "need" to get more than a month's worth of honey, lemon juice, and Starr loose leaf chew so I can get a traditional daddy Barlow.

Congrats to the upcoming three winners in the recently announced GAW!

Day 26

Anyone having issues posting or viewing pictures on iphone? I tried posting below via the link icon above from my iphone and it didn't work. Then, I used the BBC code on the post it self and it showed up as a question mark on my iphone. However, it is viewing fine on my laptop...this just started happening...not sure if it is me or forum wide issue.

Lionsteel Roundhead for day 24

Lions coming out of the wood work for Saturday!
You seem to always find the best covers my friend.
I’m warming up to the Lions a little ….. now that I saw this one.
I can see the advantage of those torxs-head screws. If the horn starts to curl …. Just torque it down ! ;) 🀣

Day 26

87°F this Stagurday in sunny south Florida and I'm on the back porch drinking Yorkshire Tea and reading comics - well, looking at them anyway, this one doesn't seem to have any words. Only numbers. 🀣

This stag Tuna Valley barlow doesn't get carried a whole lot, mostly because the blade is 154CM and won't patina - which takes some of the fun out of it for me. The Titusville Cutlery lamb in mammoth ivory, on the other hand, sees quite a bit, though usually in a slip of some kind. I guess, in my mind, if you make it intact through however many thousands of years, you earn the right to not be carried loose in a pocket with change and keys (just kidding, I can't remember the last time I had change or keys loose in my pocket... but not about the slip part - that part is true).

Wow, that HSB is amazing! I usually see them with the OVB stamp on the bolster. Didn't think I've seen one with the H before. Very nice!!

Day 26:
Got the start of a trail cut out in our woods. Began yesterday after work. The saw has been my tool of choice, but the axe comes in handy as well. Same old Barlow along for the ride. Put an extremely primitive bench up, which the shovel was helpful for. It's nice to finally be able to sit somewhere to smoke a cig or a pipe and take a break from time to time. I'll put some BLO on it before I wrap up for the day.

Primble Primble I know I'm contrarian and insurgent by nature but joking apart, I hope you know I'm not baiting you by posting dubious candidates or Lionsteels :) I think you MIGHT take to one of the latter once handling and carrying for a day or two (the wood is very disappointing for faces though... ) light in the pocket, but I fully agree they're not for everyone.

The knife to the left of the Ram's Horn is a much carried knife with a chequered past. In the photo was as I got it as a second, it had some minor flaws . A John Lloyd English Jack with this fantastic Pick Bone but some of the dye had not taken well, that didn't bother me but within a week or two some BIG pin cracks appeared on both sides . Horrified, I got in touch with the dealer he offered me another pattern knife and needed a bit extra in cash but I wasn't interested. He said e-mail John, I did but no responses, he was changing locale at the time. After a few months I gave up then decided to have it recovered. It was done by somebody here in Stag and I've been using it a lot since, the Stag suits the knife very well in the hand but the Pick Bone looked better (but thinner) After a while John L contacted me very apologetic and offered to fix it up to my satisfaction but by then I'd changed it. I like his knives, they're individual, great users which is what they're about, I get a Bill Scagel vibe off them.

The other knives are a Teardrop Jack by Kerry Hampton, CASE/Bose Norfolk, GEC 15 also to re-covered later in Ram's Horn and a locking Laguiole Ram's Horn, top a Grohmann Trout & Bird flat ground one of my favourite fixed blades, great fish filleter and food prep knife .

Thanks, Will

I see your bench. I see your Axe. I see your wicked saw !
I see somebody's arm and hand were cut off and laying on the block. :oops:πŸ–οΈ
I can't really see if your knife on the wood bench is a Barlow or Jack.
I can't see no blood though.
This has the makings of a horror movie !!! ;)🀣🀣🀣

I didn't think any such thing !
Just our usual "jerking each other's chains" is what I would call it.
All in good fun my good friend ! 🀣
