Spring into Spring with a "Barlow a Day for Thirty Days"

I love the bone on that one! And I don't own a spear point case barlow. Might have to add that to the list! 😅

Reamed out the bowl on my favorite meerschaum pipe. The coping blade on the 77 is perfect for the task. Not good to have too much cake build up on meerschaum. There wasn’t much in there but hey…..I was bored at work 🤷.

Day 4:
We'll sometimes get snow into April here. But, I think the last of any serious snow may be melting. Thought I'd take this pic!

Day 4 with my red barn board jigged Case Barlow. I’m thinking I’ll probably get rid of the etch on this one since it will lose any collector value it might have had anyway from me carrying it and sharpening it (I’m terrible at sharpening 😆). I’ve had good luck with using only a strop on it so far.

Well, since I was too busy this week to see this thread I’ll be fashionably late to the party. Headed to the mill to get another load of 2x4 ends. Decided this Camillus Barlow is the kind of knife that could’ve worked around a mill back in the day.

Those Case blade etches are usually much deeper than many might think. You get rid of the paint and then you find out you have a lot of work to do. ;) 😊

This is my Sodbuster Jr. that I got the paint or ink out of the laser etch and you can see there is a lot of etch left. I looked at it under a magnifier and left it as is ...... too much work.
Not like the GEC etches that come off easy.

Day 2

Boker Barlow SFO, integral copper liner/ bolsters, brown burlap micarta, acid washed O1 tool steel blade. Most likely the extent of today's knife use. My stuff doesn't get hard use anymore, mostly relegated to mundane tasks like opening mail and packages, cutting cord or tape, sometimes hacking away at pesky food items...

I really enjoy fresh squeezed orange juice, so when I get an orange I'll section the larger chunks for munching and leave the rest for a partial glass of juice. Need to do a clean and oil on the knife this evening.

Mr P wants photos hes darn well going to get photos.

On the way back from the hospital visit (see tootin thread) I decided on the spur of the moment to visit the Arboretum as I was driving past.😄

You can tell its spur of the moment as I am wearing stoopid white trainers while all of England is flooded.😅

English Barlows dont need to have "Barlow"shouting from the bolsters, they are cool and reserved a bit like me (not again). 😆

There was hundreds of daffodils and other signs of spring along with some massive trees.

Love my old IXL.

When I got home there was/where a lot of letters on the door mat so I put my knife to work opening them and a couple of parcels.
