Spyder Hole and Benchmade = I'm confused

It's just weird that you can trademark geometry. Wonder how the ancients would feel knowing that their circle was being used, without credit mind you, on knives today.

They probably wouldn’t care or they would have trademarked it first :D

I don’t find it weird that you can trademark geometry so long as it identifies your product. Putting a trademark on a smell would be weird to me but it has been done before lol.

I heard that a few years back that Spyderco took Benchmade to court regarding the round hole and lost the case. I have never heard Sal or anyone from Spyderco comment on the validity of this. I have a feeling that this is because it's true. I also find it strange that Sal only says "we have an agreement" when asked about the Vex. I wish someone at either of those companies would just be man enough to say if they have an agreement because Spyderco lost a court case or whatever is actually going on.

The Benchmade Vex is a fine knife. Whatever on the hole. I don't care. I am a knifeknut, not a patent/trademark nut.
