Spyderco Advocate

I'm some what disappointed to see it in a full flat grind, there's just too many line ups in Spyderco that are FFG. And I own them all, from military to lady bug. Superb slicer but I love the GB 1 and GB2's hollow grind with thin edge, I really wish the flipper would have the same shape and grind.

It's not a FFG. I like the way an almost full height flat grind looks and it should still be a great slicer. I also like the hollow grind on the GB1.
I wish they had used this same grind on the Nirvana.

Got mine at BHQ during that very short window. Really excited. This one is gonna be huge.

I just ordered the last one (I think) from New Graham Knives. I've never ordered from them before. The gentleman on the phone was really nice, and I think he may have been the owner. Seems like if everything goes well, it would be pleasure to order from them again.

Space Foo, I was there when Mike (the owner) took your call. I picked mine up just before you called. It's about 70 mile drive each way for me, but wanted to feel it in hand before purchase. Feels great in hand, flips super smoothly. The folks at NGK are first rate, and you will no doubt be very pleased with the knife, and the service. This is my first blade in M4, will be interesting to see how it holds up...

This is a really nice design, I expect this to be pretty hard to acquire for the next month or so, until dealers can keep it stocked.

Maybe I'll wait until Christmas 2017....

I definitely want one and will buy one but I'm not into playing games, getting on a wait list, or paying more than necessary. I can wait till the pipe line fills up.

Mike

They do pretty large production runs of the Taichung knives generally. It's possible I think that in a month or so these will be sold out. But there's a pretty big window before that.
I recall that happening with the Southard. It was very popular and after the initial run sold out, there was a shortage until the next run.

Very true and current Taichung runs seem even larger than the original Southard.

Give it a few weeks and the Advocate will be widely available.

That's neat. He told me someone had just driven up to get one. I'm looking forward to it. Really nice on the phone there, I think I will be using them again.

Great design, I especially like the blade shape.

Cannot abide the tip up clip configuration,,,, will have to pass on this new Spyderco.
