This one looks promising, but no pocket clip?

I realize it's on the smaller side and perhaps classified as a gents folder, but will we see a pocket clip on the production version?
The photos on all these new blades seem to be protos.

So many great knives to look forward to!

Spyderco is definitely stepping up their game with premium steels and materials.
No messing around.

M4 and Glass Fiber...gentle, but TOUGH! :D

It looks nice but that's about it, IMO. M4 steel on that knife doesn't make much sense. The lack of a wire clip is disappointing. The high MSRP is a turn-off as well. I was hoping the Air would be cheaper than the Bradley but the steel and Ti liners prevent that. There will be those that love it but I just am not turned on by it.

I am going to guess that, notwithstanding the prediction earlier about a clip, what we see is what we'll get.

some knives don't need a pocket clip this is one. As far as the steel used, that is what Gayle Bradley uses (CPM-M4), nothing wrong with it. I'm just glad it's not S30V. Try and look at the bright side of things.

what's your beef with s30??

For me personally, its as much of a pain to sharpen as longer-lasting steels, yet it looses its razor edge after a day of mild use and falls into that "working edge" that its known for. Also, I've noticed that the blade finish is actually easily stainable (I found that out while cutting around some fairly mild cleaning chemicals with my PPT that now has some pretty noticeable marks on the blade).

I'd rather step up a notch to CTS XHP or CPM D2 or just take it down to VG-10 and make it easy to sharpen.

I am in the same boat with the s30v, and its always nice to change it up a bit. Nothing wrong with s30v but it feels like everything coming from spyderco lately is s30v. I thing not having a pocket clip is fine for some, and this knife looks great but it will be kinda low on my list(mostly cuz there is a lot of great stuff coming out soon).

I really like the design of the Air. Outside of work I usually do carry small slim knives loose in pocket ( only if the the closed retention is good though). M4 might seem like over kill, but I love the fine edge it takes, on a light work slicer like this it will be fun to experiment with some scary edge angles. I would not even be entertaining the idea of purchasing this if the blade steel was S30V ( I've always had chipping problems, and have steered clear of it for a few years now).

"I'd rather step up a notch to CTS XHP or CPM D2 or just take it down to VG-10 and make it easy to sharpen.".... that sums me up pretty well too.

I wish it had a pocket clip too. That way, it wouldn't have to compete with slip joints for pocket time. It could be kept nice and high out of their reach!:D

Having the entire handle in silver twill doesn't do much for me. I'm curious how thick the blade stock is.

well looks like spyderco is claiming $600 from me between the sprint runs, the "R" (looks like the enduras cousin), techno, and this air. I would love a wire clip on it but it will see ALMOST as much carry time without.

*It also would help with the price, ouch. But i know i will love this knife so i guess i'll just start setting money aside.

The price isnt too bad but I would think it would be closer to 100

Looks pretty sweet to me. I really like that Spyderco is using more M4, and it's nice to see another wharncliffe in the lineup. That being said, I have to agree, a wire clip would be nice, and easy to remove if you wanted to go that route. Could just be a prototype thing though.
