Spyderco Bodacious - The Greatest Knife to Ever Cut

I seriously considered a bodacious in spy27 for a long hot minute, finally removed it from my cart quoting "itll just be another knife to sit around" now I'm going to revisit the bodacious and ponder it some more

I went a step farther and actually ordered one for my birthday last year, but had to cancel it the next day for unfortunate reasons.

I then realized that I didn't really want a knife that looked like the handle was made out of Papa Smurf.

It's an awesome design though. The blacked-out Salt or Cruwear/micarta treatment would be amazing.
 
I recently picked up a Bodacious in SPY27 and cobalt blue handle.

I like the knife. I have to agree with the others who have pointed out the super-smooth handle scales and exposed stop pin rivet though.

I am unsure if I would get another.

I also picked a Military 2 and am really liking that over the Bodacious.

It fixes the things I didn't like about the original Military (tip-down-only pocket clip and large linerlock handle scale cut-out).

I understand the design, the handle just didn't feel very good to me though.
 
Despite my enormity, I used to carry a Shaman. I would daydream about the choil disappearing. The Bodacious seems like my wish came true, although the substantially thinner body is a slight cause for concern. I wish there was a knife store where I live!

I'm sure there's fatter scales out there somewhere :) been thinking about replacing mine as well, the thing I liked most about the Shaman are the contoured handles

I bought the bodacious knowing I would replace the handle scales. I carried it around for a bit with the stock scales and I was pleasantly surprised that it felt really good in hand. What I didn’t like was how slick the g10 was.

AWT are contoured but probably not as hand “filling” as the Shaman. I can send mine to you to try out and reinstall the stock scales back on too. 😎

I’ve been meaning to take the AWT scales off and clean the internals. Swapped back to original configuration except Rockscale design titanium back spacer(couldn’t find standoffs) so it’s ready if you choose to try it.
No worries if you don’t.
