Spyderco Bushcraft Update

I wish they had gone with a regular brown wood-maybe walnut-like in the prototype picture.

Maybe I'm just not understanding how minor the issue is, but why would you still want to pay $90 for knife if the handles are 95% likely to crack??? I mean we're still taking 90 bucks here. Also, what about all of the people that already bought one for full price, then had the handles crack?

Yeah, but the knife will be totally functional. This is a cosmetic issue, nothing else. Unfortunate, but cosmetic.

Spyderco, being the quality company they are, replaced them with un-cracked knives, or gave them FULL refunds...

So, while people may have been disappointed, everyone got taken care of...

On a separate note, I am gonna buy one.

I just bought one. Thanks for the link Spooky!

Even if I have a problem I think its a fabulous deal. (Not like I needed another knife!)

I am glad the knives aren't being scrapped completely. Thanks for posting this up.

When I thought I was done with knives, this deal has to come up........

Don't preach to me brother, I said the same thing on the first of the year, and now I'm a Becker, a Spyderco, and two Plumbs richer than I expected to be. The best laid plans of mice and knife-nuts...

Because it's easy to repair.
Because of the unusual design and materials from a major knife manufacturer.
Because you're a fan of Spyderco.

JUMP ON THIS...these are amazing knives. I have one of the 5% that did not crack/shrink(very minute) and it is awesome.

And I thought I would just add CANADA TAKES GOLD AGAIN IN WOMENS HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the link.
I really like the design of that knife, but
if the handles are going to fail,I will save my money I think.
I would like to buy one from a
maker here on the BF. Do any of the makers here make
a blade similar to that one?

Thanks for the link.

Fail might be a strong word in this case. A bit of superglue or thin epoxy ought to fix it up just fine. Keeping a pristine look is another thing, but if you're careful it should be nearly invisible.
