Spyderco Carbon Fiber?

Mr.Sal,

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You've already gone above and beyond to address the issue some have expressed. I've personally never had a problem with how the Sage 1 was labelled: it is genuine carbon fibre in my book and always has been. Perhaps not solid CF but I knew that when I bought mine--it's a fine knife indeed, I'm proud to own it, and I have no plans to get rid of it.

No worries about nonsensical and juvenile slander from me, Sal.
I can only imagine what it would be like to have some of these ridiculously anally retentive and sniveling posters as roommates. Maybe I'd turn into a 'tactical' guy if that were the case...;)
Perhaps these nitpickers are in cohoots with a jealous competitor?
Don't know... stranger things have happened.

me - very happy Spyderco customer

First of all, I was really surprised to see that this "Much Ado About Nothing" thread still going. Sal clarified everything for everybody may be except molecular structure. Just wondering what is the next?
believe it or not I'm not actually this anal
I beleive you. This is not anal this is something totally different.
I don't know what I may have done to piss you off, but don't you think we ought to get it sorted? What can I do to perhaps adjust your aninmosity?
sal
Sal, I am sorry for this. You didn't do anything wrong. And it looks like you didn't have to. :( Some people just born this way. I am really sorry that you have to face baseless accusations.

there definitely seems to be a certain group of people whos sole purpose in life is to attempt to find flaws in others.

sal has settled this issue and obviously it can't change overnight.

what else do you want from the guy?

Hey Hunterseeker,

The speed with which you jumped in to call me a liar adds new meaning to "hover and pounce" and not very favorable to Spyderco.

As mentioned, the catalog was printed in October, a 5 month project. We'll begin the "next" catalog in June '13. We'll do some research with our customers to see if they want a carbon fiber / G-10 laminate, a 3x carbon weave / linear carbon laminate (I guess that could be called solid CF) or a 3x weave carbon laminate, and produce and print accordingly. We did change it on our website though.

I don't know what I may have done to piss you off, but don't you think we ought to get it sorted? What can I do to perhaps adjust your aninmosity?

You are a good man Sal, I don't think anyone here can think or say differently, apart from a few "fantastic" characters. (using fantastic in it's most extreme form).
I respect and admire your honesty, and transparency. I can assure you, and many others that some higher end knife makers are NOT as transparent as Spyderco, nor do they have owners willing to talk specifics with us knife enthusiasts.

Anyways my next knife will be a Spyderco, been itching to try a m390 PM2 if I can find one for a good price.

Sal, is there any plans for spyderco to release a "optimum performance" m390 blade, with a cryo HT with a hardness of approx 65 HRC? According to Ankerson's testing, it appears that is an optimum hardness for M390.

Thanx for the support. It has seemed to me to be somewhat of a 13 pager with much Spyderco bashing. Thanx much to the "fanboi's that defended Spyderco. I don't know why Roger is pissed. I believe he's a Benchmade guy, but he's usually neutral. CTS is yound and I think he likes the controversial discussion. But Seeker has an axe to grind and that's not good karma. Hopefully we can sort it.

Hi Luis G,

Probably a thread question for the Spyderco forum.

sal

I'm a benchmade guy myself but I still want the szabo I want at least one spyderco in my collection and that's what I'm choosing

can I ask where the gold comes from on the lightning strike CF

Who's Roger?

I posted the BM pic, it's the only one I own.

I'm a fan of Spyderco, but maybe not anymore if you're calling me a "BM fanboi":p

True Lightning Strike Carbon Fiber has conductive wire throughout the carbon fiber, the LSCF is being used for the frame on Boeing's new plane and the wired carbon fiber is able to diffuse a lightning strike while flying the plane, without damage to the plane.

Now that, Sir, is news to me. Very cool.

Sal, fwiw, you are chiseled on my mental knife industry Mount Rushmore. To think, without your influence, we'd all more than likely still be toting folders in sheaths.

Thar be a Manix 2 XL and a Military M390 on my wish list....

wow that's pretty cool

Sorry Rob,

my bad. :o

sal

Ouch Sal.

First you lump me into the group of bashers, then you call me Roger.:D I'm the guy with one of your quotes in my sig!

Apology accepted.:)

FWIW, anyone can go back and read my posts. None of them were bashing, all of them were factual, and in response to someone's questions.

So I stumbled across this dead horse, and I happened to have a stick:
Blah, blah, blah....

Let the excuse makers who like to make excuses for other people begin!!!

What I want to know is what you have by way of excuse to be such a troll? Are you attempting to get attention? Guess what Hunter, you have mine now and not in a favorable way.

i was thinking the same thing...

Well you were wrong.

That knife is relevant because its CF. This thread isn't about Spyderholes. And also if you look up, we are in General forums.
I wish all knives had Spyderholes for that matter.
Read that as a compliment please.

:)
