How many lock failures have you experienced? What were you doing when they happened?

0 so far that I wouldn't consider way outside its use case. I have thwacked a couple on a spine just to see but I wouldn't count that. My folders would only see hard use in an emergency.

And there are plenty of anecdotes all over the internet. There are no axis locks just randomly falling on peoples hands because the QA didn't notice the mm of extra steel shaved off that got you a giant gash on your hand. Even on very high end knives these locks fail all the time. We're talking about extremely tight tolerances

I still have my scar from my first knife accident...Stabbing cardboard as a little boy like an idiot with my new sharp SAK. No pain so it wasn't very traumatic but it was bloody and could see bone. Still remember the shame of messing myself up tho. That was easily the worst part.

Burden of proof is yours. Stop throwing around blanket statements and emotional sentiments.

Prove to me there are no anecdotes of Axis locks failing because of whatever reason you've cooked up.

Prove to me the Axis lock is superior to the Triad lock or abandon your position. Now.

Can't you see that this sucks? That a wise man acknowledges subjectivity and situational bias? That certain things are better than others when qualifying the statement?

I'm done here, good luck bud.

I (and you) can't prove a negative

But I can prove to you high end liner/frame locks fail constantly, there are threads all over this specific site lol

The way axis locks fail is the springs fail or it can never fully engage because something got stuck in the bar's path. You're gonna know that before it bites you. You're not going to notice you've finally reached the point where you've worn away the lock up and put enough pressure it's time to cut yourself deep.

Emerson's are notorious on this site and the knife community for this. First hit on google

https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/emerson-liner-lock-problem-list.115860/

You could do that same google search with CRK knives and go cheaper.

The only way to really check if the things are working is put pressure on it and see how long it lasts. Even if it's perfect wear will make it unsafe sooner or later.

You're the most uneducated person on BF when it comes to knives. That statement is fact. OP can close the thread now...
