Spyderco "mislead" about price increases!!!

Carry Spyderco often had the Manix 2 LW Rex 45 today. A lot of knife for the price.

Try that Chinese D2 vs Slyderco's Rex 45 or M4 ... if it won't perform it's not a bargain at any price.

LOL you got me there, here my carry today:
Well used awesome Tenacious in G10 8cr13mov I got for $55 And an original design Ganzo in G10, D2, ball bearings I got for $20.

what you say is true and i agree whole heartedly, however, both knives are made in China and I can't imagine material cost in China will be much different.

So answer me this, how can Twosun offer Ti/D2/ball bearings @ $50-$60 and still make a profit while Spyderco is forced to increase the cost of Tenacious to $50-$60 (almost sounds like they're not making any money on it) due to price increases in 8cr13mov & G10 raw materials? Does it smell like fish?
 
OP mentioned "knife addiction", addiction is rarely healthy (paradoxically even for health & fitness addicts).

A Spyderco like many other quality brands will, if used as intended, last long enough that you will only need to buy at max two or three in an entire lifetime and probs hand the last one down to your kids.

If you are as OP says a "knife addict" then you are spending more than you should and it wouldn't matter if they were $10 a piece your addiction would still make you spend more than you can afford.

Seek help with your addiction, the market will decide how much money a Spyderco is worth.

Also sweat shop labor. It's China, the government controls virtually everything, and there really aren't any labor laws. Why do you think Foxconn put nets out under the windows of the workers apartments? It wasn't because the employees were living a life of luxury...

Hard disagree. OP has a long established reputation as a shill and deliberately changed his name to that knowing full well the reaction it would get. As the saying goes, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
 
Leatherman has done the same thing with price increases. Some of their MTs have almost doubled in cost in the last 10 years, far in excess of inflation. In 2010, I bought a Leatherman PS4 for $28US with "free" shipping on Amazon. Today they are $39.95. That's a 43% increase. In 2011, I bought a Leatherman Sidekick on Amazon for $30.99. Today they are $59.99. That's up 93%. The cumulative inflation rate in the United States between 2010 and 2018 was 14.16%.

Spyderco, Leatherman, et al., are free to set whatever MSRP they want. And we are free not to buy them - or not. As both have been elevating their MSRPs, I have bought fewer and fewer of them over the years. That's part of the business model - sell fewer units at higher margins.

Since you knew that much about my screen name I wonder if you also read back far enough to see the reason I created an account with this name was because my original account made in 2004 with 100% trade feedback had it's PW and email scrambled by an unknown MOD who got pissed, because I posted in support of Ganzo knives resulting in me loosing access to my account.

You are absolutely correct, company can set whatever price they want and if anyone's willing to pay that price then it's worth it. But do you see the owner of Leatherman on the net time after time, year after year, blaming price increases on cost increase of the 420 stainless steel they use?

Then why can't i access my account all of a sudden and email recovery does not send an email to me? Who else can do that? If it was a system glitch I wonder at the coincidence of the timing when it happened... I guess it could be a system glitch but I put the probability of that on the lower end of the spectrum
