Spyderco Native a No-Go at Wal*Mart?

Sal Glesser posted on the factory forum that Wal Mart was looking to downsize the knife board, and the Native sells less units than others, so they are dropping it.
 
Lame. Wal Mart is going the wrong way in a lot of its business decisions and practices in many peoples' opinions and it's going to start affecting their bottom line.

More on topic, my ex girlfriend knows I've been checking every Wal Mart we see for a Native and she ran into one today and snagged one of the last two they had. Score! Makes me start to wonder why I broke it off with her...

Unlikely. Walmart doesn't eliminate products simply to piss off knife nuts. They eliminate products because they are not contributing to the bottom line. Carrying the Native affected their bottom line more negatively than positively. Thus it's being phased out.
 
A new Wally World near me, one of the Supercenters, started out with clamshell packs on the walls, but put them in the display case. Can't even see whats available, they were just stuffed in there. NO ONE mans the sporting goods area.

Darthsoaker and Confederate, these are both good points.

And of course, I spent all day considering going back for the last one!
