Spyderco paramilitary 2 limited edition sprint c81cfpe2

For me there is no reason to buy this. I already have all solid s90v Spydercos. Can't justify the premium.

I tried to capture it for you, in some light you can't even see it.

What I was wondering was how even the amount of the S90V core was from both sides. Most of the pictures in the eBay auctions show uncentered cores. Nice pic, by the way! :)

I see my dealer have one for 469.95, I was playing around with it naxt to my Sebenza, Even my dealer said there is no comparsion between them.

I kind of thought I was going to get one of these but it didn't happen. I'm actually kind of glad. I want a user sprint and the pricing on this was getting so carried away that it would have been tough to actually use it. But I was kind of caught up in the whole "well, if I can buy one for $290 and they are selling for $500+ on eBay, I guess I HAVE to buy it!"

Anyway, I didn't score one and it's kind of a relief because I don't know what the hell I would have done with it. Now, I just have to sit back and wait on a much larger run of an m4 pm2!!!

Stronger locking mechanism, better blade-steel (and cooler with the laminate), more ergonomic, and an upgraded scale (both sides) to peel-ply carbon fiber... I agree, no comparison.
:D

That's not a real thing yet, is it? If so, then crap - I escaped this spending round, but won't escape the next.

That is exactly how I feel. Although, if I had an opportunity to grab one again at $293, I probably would.

Huh. Just found out about these.I guess paying attention to other companies will do that.

These are interesting. One would think that the price point would be less than the S90V sprint? At that price point I'm starting to enter high end production and midtech areas. Makes me kinda wary about that price, but then I remember that the Para doesn't work in my hand as well as I'd like.

Personally I found this to be pretty lame. Knifeworks sold their exclusive Manix 2 XL with solid S90V and CF scales for $219. You can't tell me that it cost that much more to make this PM2. In fact, there is quite a bit more S90V in that XL blade than a PM2 would have. If this was a decision of Spyderco's to just create a low production model specifically to drive the price up, then I'm both surprised and disappointed in Sal and his people.

Whatever the case, Im very dissapointed all around. They should make more PM2 sprints, not less and cater to more people not just collectors. I read their reasoning for it. Still makes no sense but that's just my humble opinion. The original version is the most sought after Spyderco and you would think that if they'd produce a sort of second batch, they'd do so to support their customers that missed out. "We dont have enough steel". Then dont make it till you do. Combined with the original CF, whats the total count, 600-700? The cost straight from dealers is ridiculous also. Just my opinions.

I don't think the price is supposed to be analogous to the amount of S90V in the blade. I think it may have more to do with actual production of the total blade stock. Though they have done laminates before such as 420J and Super Blue, there could have been some hidden challenges in producing blade stock from these two steels. This was experimental for them, and put into a popular and highly collectible model. With most processes, as they work with this steel in production more and work out the kinks, it could bring the price back down to earth.

Who hasnt read that thread? Thanks for the update but I read their explanation in detail. Still, many are dissapointed. Not the end of the world or anything but end users had a near zero chance of getting one.
