Spyderco Persistence severe quality control issues?

Dude , quit apologizing . You have a reason to be angry and if you go through the proper channels , I hope all will end well . I don't care if you paid 5 dollars or 500 dollars for the knife , It should be the product it is advertised to be . I am a big spyderco fan and I believe they will stand behind their product. But they first must be given the chance to make it right . And trust me I know how tight money can be . Keep us updated on how the problem gets resolved.

I bought two the day they were released, and both of mine were awesome...especially for the price! Looks like this one either slipped through the cracks, or was a customer returned item.

I think I will return to Amazon if I choose to return at all. From what I have gathered it is likely their fault due to improper storage, used returns, ect. Or I suppose I can just dremel out that lanyard pillar and sand out the rust just in case they mess up again.

Sorry for the overreaction at first. I was not thinking clearly at that time.
 
Definitely go through Amazon. They'll replace it without any hassle. Also let them know that the knife is in such condition that it looks like it may have been sold as new when it was not.

Anything that says "Fulfilled by Amazon" or has super-saver shipping option, even if it's from a vendor, gets serviced completely by Amazon's customer service, following their policies. Keep that in mind and you shouldn't have to worry about defects, as they will always replace or refund.

Or you could hit up one of the other reputable dealers. I won't name names, as many of those same dealers participate here and I don't want to show favoritism, since I haven't had the chance to buy from them all yet. =)
