hey members....if you have not notice...I think the PM2 hype is dying out now. Guess production is meeting demands....

I wouldn't say the "hype" is dying down - just that supply is slowly catching up with demand. I'm glad that new users are finally getting the chance to use this great knife.

This is a great news if production is catching up. Hopefully this is effect of increased capacities. The knife like Para should be available. Also this would increase chance for more sprints and more Natives and hopefully more Golden made models. Lil T sprint will be nice. There were rumors about C95 with improved lockback.

I disagree. Put mine up for trade last night and got like 20 emails within an hour. There is still a huge demand for them. I think the only thing that has died down is the whiny posts about them, and good riddance to that!

now that people dont have any they seam to be saying they like other knives better. i think its just because there jealous lol.

Oh a little off topic but good luck selling that gray Salsa on eBay estate4life! I noticed you put it up for $30 more than I sold it to you for, less than a day after you received it.

Yeah..I talked to devil about it too....actually i thought it was PE....I was surprise that it was combo. So I listed for $99.....ebay fee & paypal is near 20%, than shipping cost.

Unless you want to take it back? LOL....don't think I am trying to make money...I am trying to get back what I spend.

every time someone lists that a site has them in they seem to be sold out in a few hours so I think your wrong.

Yeah, I'd still like to get a black/black PM2 when I can find one at a reasonable price. That doesn't seem to be doable yet. But I don't want it bad enough to pay a fortune for it. I can be patient and wait for the one that I have one on order at USA Made Blades. ;)

But I don't see supplies sitting around waiting for buyers, yet. Soon, maybe, for those that are anxious to get one and haven't yet.

Or because they like other knives better. ;)

I like my PM2, but have made no secret about the fact that I prefer the Manix line. Hard to believe, but the reason that they sell different makes and models of knives is because people have different tastes in what they prefer.

I wasn't aware there was such a demand for PM2's, and I've been collecting Spyderco for the better part of 25+ years; oh, and why are there so many whiny threads about the PM2....I may have never embraced the model, but why all the insanity?

With all due respect what forum have you been on lately because around here there's people constantly posting about the Paramilitary 2?

I'm so glad the fit of the knife in my hand is just not to my liking. OTherwise, I'd be amongst the whiners, LOL.

There is some hyperbole here, as there has been neither hype nor insanity on Bladeforums regarding the PM2. Hype connotes exaggeration or lack of justification, and I don't think thats what we've seen. To many folks, and maybe me too, the PM2 is about as perfect as a knife gets. To them, it fits the hand "perfectly", opens like butter, has just the right blade shape and lockup, is small enough for EDC but big enough to alter someone's behavior, and so on.

When the PM2 shortage began, knife lovers wanted a PM2 even more, merely because they couldn't get one. This is human nature. I didn't jones for a Twinkie until Hostess stopped making them, and in the next week or two when they hit the shelves, I'm going to blow 8 Weightwatchers points on two of them. And then I'll move on and probably forget about them until the next "shortage". So it goes with the PM2. When supply catches up with demand, everyone's satiety will be achieved, the "hype" will dissipate, and this time of national suffering will pass.
