Spyderco PM2 hype is phasing out....

been offered a PE digicam one for $165, no shipping or import duties. i passed and bought the military version instead.

It could be that the higher prices have slowed buying down or that many that wanted them for awhile are finally getting them so demand is tapering. Could be Spyderco has pumped up production to help meet demand as well. Hopefully if it's the later they have not reduced QC to increase production.

Just got a para2 today, first impressions of it are good, seems like a great pick up. Ill find out with future carry to find out my true beliefs about it.

hey members....if you have not notice...I think the PM2 hype is dying out now. Guess production is meeting demands....

Now that you think that supply is catching up, are you still gonna pick up every single Paramilitary that goes on the exchange? :p

I'll try but I'm broke...
LOL...my total count now is at 16...excluding 2 of my JG scaled. So 18 para 2........no wonder my credit card is max out.

But for this reason, I think other Spyderco models are rising in price...for example the Yojimbo 2....I used to get them easy....but now is scarce and price are higher. Guess Spyderco is pumping up production for the para, and leaving others.....

Yeah..I talked to devil about it too....actually i thought it was PE....I was surprise that it was combo. So I listed for $99.....ebay fee & paypal is near 20%, than shipping cost.

Unless you want to take it back? LOL....don't think I am trying to make money...I am trying to get back what I spend.

Oh I feel you on that!! eBay is getting so expensive to list now. Between them and Paypal.

But to the topic...I've never owned one :/. I just never tried it because I prefer my knives to have full liners so I can customize them. Maybe if I have a tap and drill set for the small screws maybe I would. That and I'm in a titanium frame lock flippers stage...Maybe more of a perminate thing. Although I do like my manix 2s and Native 5s g10.

Here a pic of some...my wife is going crazy so I don't want to take them all out.

But this one and the gold one is still my fav....I have 5 of each color with Allen Putman scales...

i just started getting into them, got my first one few weeks back an love it so far!

With fakes just coming out, I think that - that is another reason for them to ramp up production on the PM2's and keep them stocked.

Yo's have been like that for awhile also, sold out with small batches coming in to dealers, just aren't in as much demand as the PM2. I still see it at $105 at my favorite dealers and it was available just a few days ago. One even has a no commitment preorder available at that price.

Yeah...para 2 is one of my fav...I like to personalize them...my latest is black blade with a mirror finish scales...I decided not to install the pocket clip and use it like a gent folder...sleek look. But no greasy hand tho....lol.

Yup. That ones HOT!

I'll admit, I bought at the peak. Having never even held one, I had myself convinced that I didn't like the tip. Had a Southard user for 6 months and I love the steel. Damn it, you know where this is going...Bought the green sprint run right after they went on the sale board. Don't regret a thing. I like everything about it. I'm hoping that the CTS 204p becomes a favored steel for Spyderco.

It's becoming a favored one for me. Just sharpened my Southard the other night and man what a blade. Kicked my Zaan outta' the pocket last few days.

My local knife store has had them in stock for quite some time, black on black. It's my secret untapped source :). 130.00 last time I checked. Ill be picking one up to replace the one I sold at the end of the month.

I would love to see some evidence as to where the initial notion for the topic arose. Personal opinion and speculation does not make a factual statement.
