Spyderco Positron

Ordered mine for $153.95 shipped! Great price. I'm hoping for a light high-quality EDC!
 
I pre-ordered mine from Knifeworks in early June...

hope they also get a shipment soon. I'm itching to get mine.
 
I don t like flipper only knives. Don t mind a flipper, but I have to have opening holes or studs on my blades. I also agree with power noodle. Are Spyderco s prices going up?
 
I can't quite make heads or tails over the shape of the handle, so I'm going to wait to hear some feedback from you guys on how comfortable it is before I decide whether or not to buy one. But everything else about the Positron works for me. And yes, whp, Spyderco's prices are going up . . . right along with everybody elses. :(

I'm still on the fence with this one and will have to actually handle this model before I commit to a purchase. I like the design, but the forward choil looks like it may be too narrow for my index finger to be of any use. If I am wrong about this dimension (for me) and can actually use the full real a state of the 3.97" handle, then I'll be in.
 
I don't think $150ish is unfair considering the sculpted carbon fiber, caged bearings, and nested liners. I also expect that the price will stabilize below that figure once it's no longer brand spanking new and "all the rage."

MSRP on the Positron is $279.95. Typical discounts hover around 40% off which makes it $167.97. Some places will have it for 45% off which makes it about $153.97. I don't see it going below that in the near future. It'll only start approaching 50% off if they don't sell well.

Had to cancel my preorder with knifeworks.. spoke with them today and they had only received 7 in the first shipment and we're still finning pre-orders from August so who knows how long it would be before the pre order I placed at the beginning of October would take to get filled.. When ahead and signed up on the backorder at CS!
 
I love my new Positron! It has great flipping action. In fact, I like the way it flips a little better than my original Southard. The fit and finish is great. Very nice little knife! Well done Brad and Spyderco!!!

I like the overall design, but s30v is 'meh' for me, and I don't understand the sloping plunge line which makes it look like it will be hard to sharpen the last 1/4" of edge (was it only included to improve the strength of the blade around the function-less trademark hole?).

I might get one eventually, but having recently bought a G10/ti Lionsteel TRE, I am not in any hurry to fork out on it.

The TRE is another knife that's picked my interest.

I'll see how the Positron is - if I don't like it, there's always the exchange. ;)
