I guess I'll buy one and just try it out.I can’t recall thinking anything negative about the opening of the knife. I couldn’t get over the light weight and the thinness of the blade. It’s definitely not a hard use knife, but that’s not the intent. This is a small, simple and unthreatening knife that I think will excel at slicing. For the price, I don’t think you can go wrong with it.
Pretty sure the original Twill CF was S30V (2011-13) and all the rest have been XHP! Being that the model was designed to showcase different scales, using one steel made sense! I’m not keen on the REX Orange G10 (will probably buy one) but the Ivory Damasteel is a must!I always was a big fan of the Chaparral. I am just wondering if this is the first time they are offering it in different steels? Curious minds need to know.
The Schempp Retract is 9cr18mov, which is a definite step or two above 8cr. It's comparable to 440C or AUS-10.The most interesting knives for me a the ones with 8cr steel. I'm not a fan of the steel but the mantras, button locks and Schemp design look awesome. I'd just like a better steel.
