Spyderco Sage Goodness

You may be in the minority, but not alone. It's bizarre, but I find the much larger Southard actually carries better. My Sages (I have the 1 and 2) are just so wide . . .

That voice you hear is your conscience telling you to donate your Sage 2 to charity to make room for more Southards. ;)

You skipped one, the hugenormous flipper model:

;)

I was going to say, if you think Sage is wide what do you say about Domino. That's why I never warmed up to the Domino. It's about a quarter of inch wider than Sage. Sure, I would've liked the Sage to be narrower and more like Caly 3!

I think it means a Sage with a 3.5" blade kind of like Caly 3.5.

Lol gotchya. That's pretty much out of the question, it would just be a totally new knife. Not that I'm against a new 3.5" Ti frame lock or anything, but it wouldn't be a Sage anymore.

My Sage3 is almost too smooth, if that's possible. I am compulsed to keep opening & closing it just to see if it's broken.
Looking forward, as most everyone is, for the new Sage lineup as they filter in.

I meant a sage 3.5 which doesn't exist as of right now... I should explain better. Nearly all of my folders that I have ever owned had or has 2.8-3.0 inch blades. I would really enjoy a ti sage with a bigger blade. The ti military doesn't do it for me but a ti sage with a 3.5 inch blade would be enjoyable.

This $!#/^#! thread Damn you Ramzar! So ever since the forum rules changed I have taken it as an opportunity to chill out on the knife buying and trading. Especially since I really have no use for my one handers in the winter.

I had also gotten rid/gave away my last couple of spydercos in the fall of 2013. And these last two weeks all that keeps popping up are spyderco love threads. Now I'm back on the hunt for some spydies.

I'm going to give it a go at finding a sage 2 as well or one of the newer twill cf sage 1s. That asilaydying dude on YouTube was no help whatsoever either btw...

*EDIT: I got one on order!

My buddy A-ro's. BTW, I have another one of these handles that is 99% complete. I was just practicing the first time around. And the counterbore works fine with the screws. They are just too big since I screwed it up a bit. You just need to add the blade stop pin hole. ( In the exact spot) or you will not have perfect lock up.
Lmk if a couple of you are interested and we can do a little give away. Same material. You just need to add the one hole and finish.

Excellent work, looks great!

I've had all 4 (but not the new CF Sage3) at one point or another. All are awesome EDC knives in there own way but for me the Sage 2 works best. I like the weight vs. the 3 or 4 & this model is easy to make neat mods to. Here is mine:

I wondered about that. Is the shade of titanium predicated on the random batch of ti that spyderco gets or some other physical factor?

Look at you guys.
I've been happy keeping my Sage1 in my coat pocket. I almost got a Sage2 last year when my LKS was closing shop and closing them out, but I passed.
Now you've got me looking for one, as well as a CF S3.
Nothing but TROUBLE.
