Spyderco Sage

Is there a schematic? (Curious about how this works - is there a patentee name I can use to search online?)

Newell, a few months ago there was a discussion of the bolt-action lock. That got me curious enough to Google it and it was easy to find the patent online, with schematic. I posted the patent # in the thread. If anyone has search capabilities on my User ID, they might be able to find it.

The bolt action lock is simple, it's just a long spring-loaded bolt running lengthwise inside the handle. It seems like it would be very sure and very strong.

I would like to see one in FRN preferably a lock that would make the knife light.

Lighter the better.

The lightest lock? Framelock probably because it requires no liners or other parts.

The rest of them do require more parts, but we're talking fractions of ounces.

As has already been pointed out that is unlikely. Sal has commented that Sage sales for any particular lock type would not justify the expense of the molds needed for an FRN handle. On the other hand, a compression lock with an "S" style aluminum handle might be fairly light.

I would really like to see your original idea 5.56. G-10 with a compression lock would really add to an already well executed knife:thumbup: I still can't get over my Sage 1. This knife is nothing short of amazing, and I've held many Spydies.
