Spyderco Southard Flipper

Do we let the a-hole get the last word....just kidding!

Ahhh. I was wondering how long it would take before you tried to make it personal. Nice try. ;)

Oh wait. I see. You were just kidding. Well then, so am I. :D

PS: Before you try that again, kidding or otherwise, you may want to learn how to use Google translate.

Let's keep this on-topic and not discuss each other.

You have a right to voice your opinion here without being called a troll. I guess you are finding out that this is one brand that you can't say a bad thing about without getting piled upon. I only read the first page though, lol.

I try to buy only American myself. I own many Spyderco's, and two of their Tawain models. The F@F on my two are perfect in every way.
Have a good day.

BTW- It would be best if you didn't make opinions about their Ti unless you know something we dont. They do use the same Ti as others.

The global economy doesn't care about your family's next generation. It's going to do to them what it's already doing to us only worse. What we need to do is develop a strategy that will enable us to flourish in the new reality rather than waste our time tilting at windmills.

So very true I believe.

You know I see these threads all the time also and never reply to them because I know it won't matter. I personally love Spyderco and do not think the Southard is over priced I think its worth it easily. What I have issue with is people always trying to say how much more it would cost if made in the US and Spyderco isn't making them in Taiwan to have better profit margins. If made in the US it would cost the same to the consumer because that's what the market can bare and people are willing to pay Spyderco just wouldn't make as much off of them. I mean lets call a spade a spade that doesn't take anything away from the Southard being a fantastic knife. Why would anyone take the time and energy to ship materials over seas if it doesn't benefit them? No company would do that if it wasn't economically in their best intrest. Again I love Spyderco and will continue to support them because they make a good product and stand by it. You can't fault anyone for that.

Well this will probably get me branded as a heretic, but I just don't care where a knife is manufactured. I care about the quality of the knife and how much it costs, period. If I see a high-quality knife I like and I can afford it, I will buy it regardless of where it's made. Of course, having the freedom to consider myself a citizen of the global economy gives me a whole lot of latitude in this area. YMMV.

Nothing wrong with that man. Atleast you do it fully understanding and don't give a crap. All politics aside its a fine knife regardless of origin.

Yes. The Southard is a gem, all right. And believe me, I talked it down before I got one in my hand. It didn't have anything to do with the fact that it's made in Taiwan. I just thought it looked weird. But it's a funny thing about Spyderco folders. Once you get your hand around them, they just feel right. And the Southard is no exception.
