Hoo boy...

Whose turn is it for popcorn again...?

Put some M&Ms in it this time...popcorn and M&Ms rocks.

As soon as I heard the words "social commentary" the video got turned off. I'm in too good of a mood today and I'd like to stay in one.

Comment on the "controversy" or on your video?

'Cause when you said how you would like to do "social commentary" at the 13 second mark, I bailed.

Dude! You just type faster than me! 9 minutes of social commentary while looking at a knife on a desk? I'd rather get back to work.

Why do people think it's not that great?

Because it isn't? ;)

God I love me some knife reviews with some social/economic babbling mixed in. :barf:

Clicked on the video, fully realized what it was about, and closed the window.

We've got another forum for that.

I haven't read a single post here so I'm sure what I'm going to say has already been said, but then again, you never know.

People, me included at one time, looked at the country where it was produced and the price and quickly wrote it off as cheap.

Man was I ever wrong. I'm speaking of the Persistence in my case, but it is only a little brother to the Tenacious so same basic build and materials. I was very impressed with the fit/finish, and the thick liners that were used. The blade got dull faster than some other steels, but sharpened right up on my Sharpmaker.

This has turned out to be a great knife for Spyderco!:)

I watched your whole video.

I bought a Tenacious a while back. It came duller than dull. I wasn't pleased about this. Spyderco offered for me to send it back to them for sharpening. I never bothered. Lazy, I guess. When I moved the clip around, the threads on one of the screws stripped down to nothing. The knife now sits in a box of other knives that rarely see the light of day.

A friend of mine bought a Tenacious. It broke after had to use it as an emergency pry bar (he expected it do as much). He is thinking about what new knife to buy, but last I heard, he is planning on replacing it with another Tenacious.

Some people (him) like the knife. Others (me) don't.

I like my American Benchmade, KA-BAR and Becker knives. I like my Swedish Mora knives as well. I like my chinese knives less. Why? They just never have seemed as good.

You pay a factory worker 75¢/hr, you get 75¢/hr work. You pay a factory worker $24 an hour, you find that the quality control increases because now there is more on the line and someone being paid so much can't just turn out garbage all day long and continue to be so well compensated for it.

Government regulation? Ethics? Slave labor? It's my day off. Maybe some other time.

Well written.

ha ha ...they can if they're union. :)

Sorry I didn't watch the video, but I will say that I bought a spyderco persistence for $30, and a spyderco military for $130. And I couldn't help but notice that the little persistance had BETTER fit and finish and MUCH smoother opening that its much more expensive U.S.A. made counterpart.

Not trying to argue anything, just stating a fact. :o

"social commentary" ?? cost you a lot of viewers man...my thoughts? why buy a tenacious when you can buy an endura

if it aint someone's thing fine, but it is an important issue, especially for small US makers. guess how many cheap chinese made knives are sold compared to a quality US made knife that is 5 times or more greater in cost?

I am not complaining about your post, so dont take this personally but it is interesting that people will admit "I didn't watch it" but still have to get their two cents in......sorta reminds you of the types that have a lot to say about a politician but didn't actually go out and vote.

Oh well. We are all experts here anyway, we must know it all. SUprising the problem hasn't been fixed....take care.
