I am not complaining about your post, so dont take this personally but it is interesting that people will admit "I didn't watch it" but still have to get their two cents in......sorta reminds you of the types that have a lot to say about a politician but didn't actually go out and vote.

Oh well. We are all experts here anyway, we must know it all. SUprising the problem hasn't been fixed....take care.

You are missing the point. That Chinese vs American thing has been beat to death. Some people only "buy American", some don't.

I think many are over it and have moved on.

Well...except for you. I'm sure the people who aren't will watch you go on about it for 9 minutes.

I'd rather talk about knives. If I want socioeconomics, I'll go elsewhere.

And what "problem" are you talking about??? The "Chinese" problem?

Okay, so you poop on my post and now want an explanation...okay cool maybe you are all right after all :)

The problem I was referring to is manufacturing costs affecting the market place. I don't know what you mean by the "Chinese" problem .

I tell you what, johniac....I made it to the 4:58 mark and then dropped.

Sorry, I tried.

Loved the paper cutting, though! I know that's what I do with my knives...paper cutting. So...very informative. Thanks for using your Made in America computer to post it.

The reason why you're getting a negative reaction is because you:

A. Posted in the wrong forum.

B. Posted a topic which has already been beaten to death in this forum as well as the Political Arena, despite the fact that this forum is not the right forum for the topic.

C. Linked to a Youtube video for your entire argument.

Avoid doing these things and you'll find that we're a friendly bunch.

ever hear of the US auto industry? High paid workers that put out a lot of crap for a lot of years and then went bankrupt.......so your argument is flawed

I highly doubt the factory worker did their jobs poorly , they were just putting together the crap the engineers designed !!!

you said you bailed at 13 seconds, are you changing your story? :barf: Yeah I am sure you use your knives for all sorts of tough guy stuff. You must use them to baton wood right?

Whatever dude.

Of course my argument is flawed. The whole issue is flawed. If airtight logic could be applied here, there wouldn't be much to talk about. However, I'm not talking about the auto industry. I'm talking about a much smaller industry with a product that has a much smaller profit margin. An industry where an hour of wages becomes a significant percentage of the cost of the product being made.

Pay someone 75¢/hr to make a widget that retails $35. Regardless of the quality or the amount of widgets, you are making a HUGE profit.

Pay someone $24/hr to make a widget that retails for $75. Now, quality becomes very important because your profit margin has dropped. Not by a little. By a lot.

Pay someone $30, $40, $50/hr to make a widget that retails for $15,000 (auto industry). See my first example.

Someone better make with the popcorn on the double!

Obvious troll is obvious.

Posts a video full of political junk in a knife discussion forum, then whines about not getting the replies he expected. A recipe for success!

Well I left a comment on the video, attempting to provide you with some info on the problems dealing with china :P

My thoughts exactly. I didn't realize until my last post that the guy picking a fight with everyone was the same guy who posted the video asking for comments and discussion.

I am sorry, but many here jumped to a conclusion about the thread I started. The topic I was raising has NOT been covered. I am not trying to compare US vs Chinese made. I am wondering about how US manufacturers will survive when they have to compete against a huge worker comp. disparity. I think it is an important point that this knife makes very well.

If this is in the wrong forum, maybe someone can move it. apparently I can not.

LMAO.....yeah there is no way that the guy that put together the axel in my truck could have been responsible for it being bolted in WITH THE WRONG BLOTS. nope, no way.

I'm sorry, how are you both wondering something and emphasizing a point at the same time? Are you wondering rhetorically?

It sounds like you are asking how a U.S. manufacturer will survive by outsourcing its labor and thereby producing their own product at a cheaper cost, resulting in higher profits. Am I right? They will do so by outsourcing their labor and thereby producing their own product at a cheaper cost, resulting in higher profits.
