Spyderfly Discontinued...

I have two Spyderflys with VG-10 steel with no flaws and one Szbofly that I received with a defective latch. I sent the Szbofly back to Spyderco and 6 weeks later they replaced it with a new one. I am assuming the handles have casting defects which make repairs difficult?? I am planing to talk to a Spyderco rep. at the Blade Show in June and find out what is going on.
 
Just recieved my Rainbow 'Fly this morning from NGK, the Titanium Nitride finish looks really nice, the knife is much bigger than i expected, it's slightly longer than my Millie, but it's nicely balanced with a good heft to it, no bladeplay at all, the flipping action is a little stiff, but that could be from sitting in the UPS truck all morning in air temps of 16 degrees farenheit.....

i never thought i'd say this, but this is one Spydie i'm *glad* that came out of the box less than optimally sharp, not sure if it's because of the Rainbow anodizing, or it just wasn't sharpened completely, but this one is somewhat dull, easily fixed on the Sharpmaker though

however, i don't think i will sharpen this one, as it's going into the collection with the Karambit, i have a normal 'Fly on the way from NGK anyway that *will* be a user

the 'Fly is a very solidly made Bali, sorry to see it go :(
 
Does anybody know why they were showing that new smallfly in Amsterdam if they discontinued their bali line? Just curious to see if anybody had any new info.

where can one get a smallfly? I have seen no info thus far, though I have not really searched hard admitidly.

I'm on the fence about giving spyderco my business in the future.

The Smallfly has not been released yet.

I just bought a Spyderfly at the local gun show. How do I go about telling if it is one of the models with the defect? Do I just have to wait for it to crap out?

It has 440C steel, if that makes any difference.
