Anybody deal with spydieguys on ebay? They have great feedback and a good inventory; was thinking about picking something up from them.

Ive done about 7 deals with them this year alone. All went perfectly when I was the one sending money:)
Of course I havent had to send anything back so I cant vouch for their behavior on that issue.

I've bought one Spyderco from Spydieguys. Fast shipping and a great knife.
Good communication too. No worries. They'll take care of you.

5 deals with them......no problems whatsoever. Super fast shipping, no BS.

I bought a Spyderco Micro-Dyad from them last summer. The knife was definitely not up to the usual Spyderco quality standards. They refunded my money without too much trouble. So, I guess my experience with them was so-so.

They treated me very well with an international deal so I imagine they would be very fast in the US as well.Prices are not perhaps the keenest, otherwise excellent.

I JUST recieved a set of Ultra Fine sharpmaker rods from them.... after ordering them more than 2 weeks earlier.

I can't say that the product was bad, or that the transaction was particularly painful, and I'm not sure what the difference was with my order compared to everyone elses on here, but for some reason, they didnt even SHIP my order until about a week and half AFTER I placed it.
I paid immediately too.

I ordered the sharpmaker from a different ebay seller on the same day (this was on a friday) and I had it the following MONDAY.

I waited patientely for my rods for a week and a half, and I finally had to email spydieguys to see what was up. They didnt respond to my question, but I received a shipping notification the next day instead.

So overall, it was a little inconvenient, but in the end, I am happy.

Just to follow up on my previous comment, the one thing that will keep me from ordering from Spyderguys again is their shady Ebay selling practices. When I received my bad Micro-Dyad, it was clearly different than the one featured in their Ebay ad. I brought this to their attention and their response was, "well we sell a lot of knives so we don't take new pictures for each auction." Now I can understand that reasoning, but when they don't say that in their ads, or bother to check the quality of each knife they send out, it kind of rubs the buyer the wrong way.:thumbdn:

Well....

I tried to contact them after a sale, they disappeared. Nothing. Zilch.
Once the sale is done, you may as well be pocket lint.

If you voice criticism of them on Bladeforums, as I did, they simply ban you from bidding on anything ever again. Nice, classy bunch...:thumbdn:

I won an auction from them awhile back. It arrived in a timely manner, but it showed up with postage due! I paid (I think) more than 6 bucks for shipping, it came in a padded envelope, and I had to cough up extra dough to the postman. Emailed them about it, got a "well, we use some kinda postage estimator thing" response. They could have at least offered to refund the extra cost to my Paypal.
