Stag Saturday - Let's See Some Traditional Stag!

Out “hunting”, sitting in the shooting house because we got knee+ deep snow overnight (still hasn’t let up) and it’s real tough walking.

Made these for the wife for our Anniversary few months back. Set of eight steak knives with elk handles. The blocks are from an old set of el cheepo imported steak knives trying to be western. The blocks were the best part of that outfit. Sanded them and threw a couple of coats of danish oil on them as well:

She often uses them as regular kitchen knives too cause they are stuuuuupid sharp. They are ground extremely thin from stock that only started out .070 thick to start with, so are slicing sons of guns. AEB-L steel at 62RC.

What a great gift, Dave! Beats the heck out of flowers and a box of chocolates! Not that I do that...

Thanks Gary Peregrin Peregrin ! Wasn't much of a surprise though as I'd had made the blades maybe a year before I got around to putting handles on em. Sometimes your own stuff gets put to the back burner as ya work to get customer's orders out. I just did a holster for my self that I'd been meaning to do for years, like 20!
