Those Stag Bucks 300s are fantastic. Love to get my 309 re-handled in Stag. All stainless too, no brass to verdigris it all up

No, the blade is stainless (in Spanish, acero inoxidable, or just inox).

I bought this Boker in the 80’s. Does anyone know about the stag they used back then? It has always seemed to me to be richer in color and character than what is used now.

It could be that the stag is torched, but age itself makes the color more "mature".
Solingen makers often used Red Deer antler

Leslie, the stag is definitely torched, and some pieces (I guess based on density?) take on more of the buttery tones. Yours is beautiful. Today I have this #55 linerlock with some decent stag.
