Still a little Saturday left to post some more Stag into this esteemed gathering!! The wonder and beauty of a single-spring knife!!! Near perfect sunk joints and rounded bolsters make it great!!!View attachment 3112808View attachment 3112809View attachment 3112811
Call it what you want, this Congress pen is an exquisite knife by GEC!! Firmly snappy at pulls of 7, not so gnarly stag, so you don't mind using it!!
And it has a great, useful choice of blades of carbon steel!!! What other knife does a person need, urban or suburban!! If you had but one knife, this one would cover a lot of bases at the goodly length of 3 3/4"!!! Comes close to the ultimate pocket knife!!! 🤔
You're of course right ;) That smoother Stag suits a slim pattern better and encourages carry  Really nice example. I think the whole pattern is unappreciated (which in a sense is good...) Decent size, good blades and low joints with excellent snap and found no blade rub. Have 3 of this pattern- Redbone (really good dark colour) Oakleaf shield Wood and the user which is Camelbone bar shield. Alas, no Stag though 😢

Thomas Turner made some beautiful knives!! I call this one a "GENT"S DOUBLE-END JACK"!!!! At 3 5/8" it's hard to call it a Pen!!! Under the "Encore" brand!! "His Majesty" was probably George V or George VI !!!T Turner Encore Stag 1.jpgT Turner Encore Stag 2.jpgT Turner Encore Stag 3.jpg
The thinnest Stag I have ever seen for its length, and they squeezed a lot of info on the tangs!!!
