Remains to be seen, it can be hard to determine with the older clasps, they weren't always marked.

One sort of has to go with one's gut on these. They were made all over Europe, with some coming out of South America.

You can see some of the differences in construction looking at Fes's and mine. Notice the facing on the bolster of mine as compared to the bare face bolster on Fes's.

There's a whole area of collecting on these alone, I don't know half of what I should about them. You just have to look at the way it's put together and decide for yourself.

They usually involve a really nice piece of stag. The piece on Fes's is outstanding.
