You lucked out Jason, really nice stag on that one. Most of the pieces I've seen on Case knives have been less than impressive.

I also got a knife yesterday.

Christian and Jason....real nice knives there guys! and I agree with Christian....lovley Stag on that Case Jason!
Christian...is that just a single bladed lockback? I love the Stag and those Bolsters along with the Lanyard hole....that is one very cool knife

Just so Duncan. It's a #722112.

#72 = pattern
2 = the main blade (in this case a spearpoint)
1 = the knife has 1 blade
12 = it was made in 2012

Thank you for that kind Sir!.... then in this case, with a single spear point blade, I think its one very very nice knife...well done!

Lovely #72 lockback Christain. Really liking the bolsterless patterns guys, something really special about those.

Enjoying my #73L

Outstanding! Shadows of a Former Age:thumbup:

When you say jumbo, s-k any dimensions for us? Any idea who made it for the A&N? Lot of history possibly riding on that one, could've been in the trenches in the Great War

Only lowly new stuff on order GEC Weaver Jack single-blade EO in Antique Black and I'm brooding about a BUCK 303 in comfortcraft yellow, but, do i need it??:confused::eek::D

Regards, Will

Thanks very much for your comments Will. As always, they are very much appreciated. The length closed is just a tad shy of 4 inches. I'd say 3 & 7/8s. I don't know who made it, but most likely one of the big Sheffield firms.

Here is one I've had for a short time and presents a few questions. All blade marked: J Bunger / Sons / Celebrated / Cutlery with XX on the reverse tang. No country noted in the stamp. Shadow construction whittler with really nice stag on the front side but a much lesser scales on the reverse. I think I read somewhere that there was a practice of different finish from front to reverse, but I'm don't recall the details. Anyone know this brand, or the details on why the different features from front to back? Charles

These WWI military knives were shown recently in the marline spike thread but seemed appropriate here too.

s-k I love the stag on these old Sheffield knives, as others have said they had some really good stuff in those early days. Here is my meager contribution, a small wharncliffe C+X LOCKWOOD BROS with shadow stag scales, knife is 3 1/8". I bought it for the bark of the scales. Charles
