Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts?

Being the curious fellow that I am, I was wondering if folks here preferred one over the other?

I do have coffee once in a while, and I noticed Dunkin' Donuts coffee had a milder flavor which I prefer, compared to Starbucks. But that's me.

Do the folks here prefer Starbucks, or Dunkin' Donuts coffee? :)

Neither. Starbucks coffee at their shops always has a 'weird' taste, more of an aftertaste, that puts me off. Dunkin' Donuts is too bland, on par with other fast food, gas station, or restraunt coffees.

I started drinking Starbucks coffee a while back, and now everything else tastes weak to me. So for me it is Starbucks, which is frustrating in that their coffee costs more than about everyone else...

Starbucks = :thumbdn:

Dunkin' Donuts = :thumbdn:

QuickChek = :thumbup:

Brewing your own = :thumbup:

I buy the Starbucks Sumatra from the grocery store and it's pretty darned good. Don't know why they can't get their coffeeshop brews to taste good like that...

My 'usual' brand is Community Coffee, either the Original Dark Roast or one of their Private Reserve dark roasts. After drinking a cup of Lousiana Blend Dark Roast, almost anything else would taste like dirty water.

Roast, grind, and brew my own. Starbucks isn't even on the same planet.......Dunkin Donuts serves tea....ablbiet slightly stronger than most teas.

I'll drink just about anything (except instant). I usually look for Green Mountain coffee...now brewed in many gas stations;)

As much as I hate to say it,MacDonalds, in the past year or so ,has upgraded their coffee,and done a damn fine job.

Starbucks - their coffee and not any of that sweetened/caffeinated milkshake junk.

Foldgers crystals dissolved in boiled snow outside of your tent in the mountains during Feb. - perfection!

Who goes to Dunkin Donuts for the coffee??? :D

Ahh, it's not too bad, just gotta drink it black. It can't handle any more diluting. Now the muffins ... blueberry, coffeecake ... yes.

Starbucks? Only if there's nothing else around.

Au Bon Pain. Coffee's OK, food is good, especially the soup. Muffins are great.

You mean, when they upgraded from 40% to 60% Kingsford? That stuff tastes like charcoal :barf:

Instead of instant, I use those Folgers Singles for backpacking. Works like a teabag and has decent flavor.

I agree, if it's reasonably fresh. I heard that they buy it from Green Mountain now.

Starbucks :barf: It is over roasted, almost burnt. I was at the hospital waiting for my wife and went to the cafeteria for a cup of coffee. They "proudly served Starbucks coffee". It was so gross, that I tossed 3/4 of it in the trash. :barf: :barf: I guess if you add tons of cream, chocolate, ice, etc. it would be OK, but then all you have is a liquid candy bar.

I roast and grind my own or buy it from CoffeeMarias.

The $20 french press pot I have in my kitchen has them both beat. Makes good strong smooth tasting never bitter coffee every time.

We had the misfortune to be at a couple of hospitals out here in NJ in recent years; fortunately, the patients recovered, but it was not a happy place to be.

Taking a break and hitting the cafeterias was a surprise, though. They had both contracted with Au Bon Pain, which I had only known as a decent chain in NYC. A hospital cafeteria with good coffee, sandwiches made to order, fresh salads ... it helped a lot.
