This member posted a Jake Hoback Kwaiback for sale or trade. I had contacted him to trade and we came to an agreement: my Emerson CQC-14 and $250 for his Kwaiback. I sent him the money and shipped my end the next day. He did not ship the same day as me and stated that he had a long day at work and would ship the next day with "custom spike". I said that was fine. He finally got to ship it the following day and sent me the tracking number. The package arrived this past Saturday and it was too light to contain any sort or knife. It made no sound shaking it. My instincts kicked in and I started filming a video of the box and me opening it. Of course NO knife was in the package but only a couple of newspaper pages.

I sent him an email immediately wanting an explanation. He stated this happened to him before and he will refund me my money and ship my knife on Monday. I allowed him the latitude to produce my refund and knife. To my surprise I found him on a Facebook page selling my CQC-14 that he said he would ship to me on Monday. I already called PayPal to dispute this claim and he hasn't messaged me back all day today.

Damn. Sounds like your Emerson is gone. Hopefully you can at least recover the 250. But if paid F&F, that's probably gone too. Time to post details and links so others can put him on radar.

I've been on the receiving end of an empty box before, but fortunately I wasn't dealing with a shady seller, it just actually got lost or stolen in transit. I don't want to jump the gun without giving the other party an opportunity to explain, but anytime I go to the post office and mail a package off they weigh the package, even in a flat rate box, and the weight is printed on the receipt. You might try contacting the post office that accepted the package from the seller to see if they can determine if there were any contents in the box when they received it. If it was empty at that point, then light the torches and grab the pitchforks. If there were actually contents in it, then maybe there's some sort of explanation for the rest of the story. As for selling your knife instead of returning it.....I'll hold off on that for now.

Just thought I'd add a little advice for future reference. Something I like to do when shipping something to a buyer is, take a picture of the receipt, which shows the weight, time and date it was shipped, amount of insurance on the package, etc. and give that photo to the buyer along with the tracking number. I've never thought to actually request that when I'm buying something, but it sounds like a good idea, that way you can see if there is some sort of weight in the box. There's still no guarantee of what's in the box, but at least you'll know it's not empty.

This individual (MFCknifenTOOL) was removed from a few knife groups I admin on Facebook for causing a ton of drama. I haven't heard anything bad trade-wise against him, but he has caused issues in the recent past. I did a search through several other knife groups, and I don't see the Emerson posted for sale, so hopefully he thought better of it. Please keep us updated if he makes this right, or else I will be sure to alert the Facebook knife community about his actions. He's in a ton of groups still.
 
I did talk with PayPal and they will investigate and will issue me a refund within 10 days to allow him to explain the situation. I did use a credit card on PayPal so I also talked with my credit card company. I don't know how to load a video here but I did post it in the Facebook group for others to see and beware. The box was not tampered with and perfectly sealed and taped upon receiving and before opening so that rules out being lost in transit.

I did confront him on his Facebook post where he was posting my CQC 14. I did confirm it was mine he was selling because he even posted a pic of the blade with the serial number and it matched mine from my sales post here. He did not respond but instead took down the add and even deleted it from anyone seeing it ever again. I will post this on other groups to warn people. The fact that he is ducking me and blocking my email messages proves that he was shady to begin with.

I will at least get my money back but you guys are right I lost my CQC 14 but I will post a pic later from my post and screen shots from the video. I will also post pics of my emails getting blocked as well; not once but three times blocked. I will update this thread as the situation progresses.

You should also contact a mod here. They will pressure him to respond. And most likely, if you don't get everything back eventually, he will be banned. So even if you aren't made whole, you would be doing the community a favor by helping to get rid of a bad apple.
 
MFCknifenTOOL was on the forum this morning - and he is currently viewing this thread right now. So hopefully we will hear from him.
 
Since Mfcknifentool is aware of this thread and has failed to respond his two current for sale threads have been locked and will stay so till the situation with Ground0 is resolved.

Agree , all the mods do a good job though , Rev has this ability to get things handled quickly though. Guess it's his sunshine and rainbows . :D

Problem with the post office Esav is a walking talking post office manual , problems with the post office Esav can help fairly quickly .
Ground0 the seller has under 60 posts and all but 2 are buying selling or trading on here . It be would be in your benefit (not that anyone is not believing you ,just to speed up the process) screenshot your emails or messages with the seller . Pm a mod and let them know you have the screen shots and ask them where to send them . They may want you to post them here or yall may exchange them in private . Again nor saying your lying I'm saying proof is there and proof is your best friend if you've been wronged . I would also request the seller to send you the weight of the package on the receipt for the post office .

The time i got ripped it was just like this . Seller claimed he sent it but refused to send the receipt that had the weight of the package on it .

+1 plus I'm sure they can see what the package scanned In as weighing . Provide them with the weight of the knife from Emerson or some dealer website and send all your emails to them . It can go as far as you want to take it and personally I wouldn't stop .
 
Emerson and knife center both have the cqc-14 weighing 4.3 ounces .I know I'm keeping on about weight but it's how I won my case when I was in your shoes .

All of that depends on if Mr. Tool printed the label itself, or it was taken to the PO for them to process. If you create the label; then you assign a weight to it - not the PO. As far as I know, they have no process to weigh every pkg or envelope. Probably just done on the exception or suspicion of someone underestimating to get a cheaper rate.

Hopefully all that will not be necessary and Mr. Tool will step up.
