Sticking my toe in the water: potential sign up sheet for a 17" to 18" Foxy Folly.

That's the fancy bag o' tools. The same stuff that comes with the Berk Special. It's nice but probably adds a few bux to the cost. How about a couple of YCS type kardas? :)
Bruise the Foxy Folly only comes with the standard karda and chakma, not the root canal kit.;)
I made two special kardas for mine out of an old German hunting knife and an old beat up Boy Scout knife and Terry made a flat frog to hold them on the beautiful brown leather scabbard.
A 17" to 18" Foxy Folly would round out my khuk collection nicely and I will probably upgrade to a gold membership to get rid of most of my others. I figure I will have less than a dozen khuks in time, if Uncle Bill consents to do this model.

Or you could try trade forum... example...

Bura AK Bowie great shape never used for trade

wanted green colored very thin edged five inch "paper cutter" with ornamental portrait of Ben Franklin on one side e-mail for more info

JUST KIDDING please don't ban me...... :)

watching (not ignoring) thread....

waiting to see if interest waxes or wanes...

(I'd like to be in on this Yvsa...you know my concerns...honestly hope it works out - certainly has tremendous potential.)

I'm very optimistic that this will go through, Yvsa! ;) Great project; I'm going to have to jump in on this one myself; hoping it is done properly, and is LIGHT. Come on guys, this is a chance to get a really good performing khukuri.

To get all of the parameters met for the 17"-18" FF, it might be a good idea to produce a wooden or high density plastic model, replete with the old style habaki and cho positioning. The probability of it coming out as ordered might be considerably enhanced. ;)

We might be looking at an 8 mm. spine thickness and a 2.75"-3.0" wide blade... Is the original FF really only 5/16" at the spine?

Naw, the kamis make the AK and Sirupati in three or four sizes and they can do the Foxy Folly in two sizes under the requirements listed in the other thread, this one too actually.
All that needs to be done is to remind them to make them to our requirements and Not what they want to do or they won't be paid, like the YCS deal and they'll make 'em just fine.

That is unless you're volunteering to make the model? :p

Although I've got more khukuri's than places to put them right now, I'm a sucker for an interesting deal - count me in. Hope it comes to pass.

:footinmou Maybe your idea is best, Yvsa... :D ;)

Err, Yvsa... Don't let this thread slide into oblivion! ;) Please read my posts as they pertain to this thread. If you would allow me to get in on this special order, kindly place my name on the list!!! ;) This will be one of the special specials...

Yvsa - I would be happy to do an annotated drawing, if you would like one.

Are you absolutely certain now, Dan? Which Dan am I addressing?

Is this the Dan who was in, then kinda in, then out, then kinda in, now sorta in?

Here we have the grand old man of the forum trying to get his foxy folly dream built for over a year. During the same time you were moderator and special projects guy during a time Bill said no more special projects- yet you got the two you wanted through- the Kerambit and the BDC. You did not have the dignity or basic human respect to even respond to the posts of those of us who wanted a 16" BDC- now pretty much the same model as Tora's flag ship khuk. But you didn't want one, so you didn't respond. For someone paying lip service to being a community guy, it was disgusting behavior.

The other day you hijacked a thread with picture nonsense- I asked you seriously what the picture meant- no response. But you did take the time to post a picture arguably of a man making an obsence getsture. You were having fun on your own special channel with another forumite- a classic example of your 'in' crowd and 'out' approach to people.

I can't tell whether I'm addressing a human being or the fuller brush salesman. If it's not your intention to come across as the glad hander of all time- by all means help this great old man Yvsa to do his FF- that is, if he will trust you, if he even needs you now that the hard part- getting momentum is over.

I've written what I'd like to say....and emailed it to myself. Anybody that wants to read it, please email me and I will gladly forward it.

Otherwise, there's no need to get this thread locked up. It's a great project and needs to stay alive.

Dan we have another thread that is the sign up list. This one was just the potential list and has served its purpose.
I'll gladly put you on the confirmed list if you want. Remember this is a prepaid project and anyone not putting their money upfront won't be in regardless if there name is on this thread or not.

Dan, thanks but no. Bill has said the kamis don't work well with American drawing so I don't want to confuse them. I'm confident that since they make the AK and Sirupati in several sizes they can do the same with the FF successfully with the rquirements I have given them.
A lot of it will be determined by the success of the YCS project.
