Still Life

Thanks a lot Guys!

Pertinux,
It was the only knife which I had with me. It is a small fixed knife, he is very practical for several things. Food, to cut a piece of wood, ect.
I did not want a too heavy or too fragile knife. That if is made by a French craftsman ( http://kiridashiandtools.com ) who has voluntarily to pass can of time on the finishes of the handle (although it stays very well make) to be able to propose this knife at a price realy not expensive for a blade in sanmai. ( 90 euros). It makes one very good utilitarian.

I can only encourage you to be interested to his work!
These fixed knives are really very beautiful tools and really not too expensive.

Received today, a Teumessian by Mr Monnet (http: // couteauxph.blog4ever.com)

green micarta, xc75 for the blade / 11cm of blade ( 4.330 inch ) , 22cm ( 8.661 inch ) in everything.

It is a little smaller than the model normal. But I did not want a too big knife.

The handling is really brilliant, it is the knife which asks to be to use and which calls up by adventur and go to the wood !

Now I say to myself that I would have to take the it bigger :p

There they are no more photos of my knife, but it is exactly the same except for the wood for the handle. It is just for illustrating the system of blocking of the blade.

I remember this locking mechanism. It was posted by a member who said the design was used in folders from the Belgian-German border region called a "Lierenaar".

Yours though is much more "noblesse".

EDIT: Ah yes, I missed that part where you said it was from Belgium. Bon!

Whew. Thanks, untamed. I remembered that Andi had posted a much more primitive example of this type of locking mechanism, but not what that knife was called.

It is interesting!

In France this system is called " palanquille "

Here are some images of knives of the French brand "Mongin" ( this brand is very famous in France. I find them knives very beautiful mostly, but I have never bought it because the blade is polished as a mirror, we see each other inside. And I really hate that :barf: ) with the system palanquille. They are not my knives, just some images of internet

Very cool! Thanks for sharing these with us. They remind me of some of the traditional Italian folding knives I've seen on "other" forums.

....also, I've found a place to order a Lierenaar online, now I wonder how much the shipping will be...... ;)

Eric Parmentier is an incredible cutler. He invents all the time of new shape of knife and the finishes are perfected.

Here is a link or we can find some one of the models that he invented.

MAgnifique! Ce nouveau, je pense que c'est le mieux. La manche est plus rond, pas si carré comme les autres. Il me semble que c'est plus confortable dans le main (et aux yeux aussi....).

What a pleasure it is to view your knives,Phacochere!!! His creations on the link you posted are incredible. Thank you sir.

Phacochere, outstanding knives, all of them. How did you get your hands on Lespect folders? It's been impossible for me to find any. I know that he slowed down production a bit last year with his new home and baby, but I believe he's picked back up.
