Stockman lovers be heard!!

The stockman is a descendant/derivative of the cattle knife, just as the canoe is a pattern based upon the cattle knife frame. (Cattle knives, as I recall, always have a spear master as opposed to stock knives which normally feature a clip.)

I love stockman too. Especially the slim ones.

A few 60's and 70's Schrades

Theres is something about those older Schrades that just grab my eye..
I have a few of those myself. Very nice...

Good old honest Stockman knives are my favorite right next to the Trapper pattern in my book and I was raised up on the Stockman pattern as the first knife I ever received as a boy of 8-9. And yes, quite a lot of fat blades in a small light weight package.

Here are a few of my very favorite.. snowflake, you should recognize this first one.. :)

I really like the looks of this one, esp the handle. sunnyd who is the maker of it?

I recently picked-up my 1st stockman a Buck 301 and have been loving it.

I guess you could say that I have a mild fondness for the stockman...

These days, it would be hard to find me without one of these three on me:

Hey SUNNYD, This one looks like it might be a distant relative to your Frontier. Its a Western W338... Mine must have been the budget model though lol, it doesn't have the swedge and has a regular nail nick.....

I'm waiting for Guyon to post that Schatt & Morgan honey bone stockman with the round bolsters. It sends me every time I see it. How about a picture of that one with the blades showing?

The stockman is my favorite pattern, especially the medium stockman.

One of the first knives I ever remember owning was a Schrade Walden 825 razor blade stainless, which was a gift from my grandfather many moons ago. I always loved that knife, the smooth lines and simple function. I still have it to this day.

(Although...I have never shaved with mine)

And here's an old pic of a knife roll of mine...

There is something beautiful about a row or tier of stockmen. Great collections everyone!!
Nice roll's worth Glenn. I always like Hal's comparison rows also. I will have to do a shot for this thread too.

This particular one is mine but it sounds like the stockman you may be referring to:

Reminds me of a Case Gunboat Canoe which features spey and sheepfoot blades, but it looks larger closed then other Cattle knives that I have seen. Larger by a half inch maybe. I'll have to check some specs.

That is exactly the one. Thanks for showing. What is the pattern # and year on that S&M if you don't mind.

If I remember correctly this was the IX Anniversary Series. I think it was the first year they featured ATS-34.

The secondary clip blade is marked 043/109

I remember being struck by the looks of this particular knife back in 1999 when they came out as it reminded me of the knives my grandfather used to own and carry. To date, it's the only one of the anniversary series knives I've purchased. (Not that there haven't been several others that have made me look twice.)

Lambertiana, I really regret that Queen Cutlery no longer makes that Stockman in CSB.Fine knife with rounded bolsters there thanks!

It's still around in amber carved stag bone and maybe even the original carved stag bone at certain vendors depending on their inventory.

Sunnyd, never seen that CASE bolsterless Stockman before, most unusual. Are there any other bolsterless Stockman/Cattle knives around anyone know?

Thanks Blues, I will keep looking.I'm in the minority of one it seems who prefers the off-white Carved Stag Bone to the newer Amber bone-but that's tasty scales too.

Here's a Browning in Rosewood...

One of my top EDC's is this Bulldog. The sowbelly sits in the pocket well.

Another pick of the Carl Schleiper

And then there's this little Kabar Ipicked up on the bay. The blades and overall knife was heavily buffed so I was disappointed, but the quality of the old Kabar was impressing.
