The colors are dazzling sunny, and a nice juxtaposition to the "bollocks" shield:D!

Hey there Charlie,

That is toooooo funny you mention that aspect of the shield:eek::D, as although I never noticed the shield in that light before today, it really occurred to me how "rare" that shield is, and all of the sudden I really enjoy it much more than ever before..

Well, I recon you know what the say about "great minds" and all.. ;)

Greg, I like a knife with personal history! I also like the threaded bolsters western used. Nice!
Beau, did you have to use ALL the money in those bags to buy your collection??<G>

Greg & Beau,

Sweet photo's fellows,,, very, very nice!. Its really amazing what the cutlers of years past could achieve. When I examine all these knives carefully I see very rich colors in the scales that I don't see in today's offerings, not to mention the carbon steel's appearance after some good honest use.

The phrase: "Fine Character" comes to mind..

Here is one I'll add that some of you folks have may have seen in the past from me, but it just seems appropriate to place it here after Greg's Western and Beau's Case line up.. This Stockman was passed to me by my favorite uncle in my formative years. I still give her some pocket time at least several times a month as she is one fine cutter..

It's a '81. The 1st year of Cripple Creek. The frame is about 3" give or take a smidge. There is a 5 blade piece built from the same frame as well. The shield was one that Cargill used along with the buffalo shield and a few others during the same time frame. The CC shield is one of the rare ones and pretty much dates the knife at a glance. The oak leaf shield on a Cripple Creek knife may be the most rare. You will see them on knives stamped CARGILL often but not a lot of the CC's has the oak leaf.
Some good stuff in here fellas.
